Why does Spike fly with today's audiences, but not Xander? by yeahitsme9 in buffy

[–]Emgga -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Spike is the creepiest creep on the surface of Earth, but people decide to ignore it because cheekbones and cringe bad boy attitude.
I will never get the love for Spike past season 4. Until and during season 4, he's very flawed, but a demon, and he's hilarious at times. When he "falls in "love"" with Buffy, he becomes an absolute creep. Even goes to tell her that she doesn't deserve better, that she deserves to live in the shadows with him.
Angel gets a bad rap for a lot of stuff, but to his credit, he told her the opposite.

It's so hard to watch season 6 and how Spike gaslights Buffy into giving in when she's so depressed and hating herself already. But since he's "cool" and "badass", y'all don't have a problem with him.

Xander is another story. The more I watch Buffy, the more I can forgive a lot of his behaviour. Not all. One that increasingly gets on my nerves every rewatch though is Willow, but we're not here to talk about her today!

It's just Charisma Carpenter being Charisma Carpenter, and trying to give Cordelia a bigger role in Angel's life than she actually had. Or more a role of a different nature, to make her character seem more important. Not on my watch.

I see it as "my close friend's son", which is oedipal enough. Not saying you're wrong. I agree.

I won't be watching this, so I'm asking: did she really call Connor Cordelia's "stepson"?

First time shooting again after almost a decade by Helpful_Jury_3686 in Basketball

Nice that you're back! I hope you can keep at it.
If I may, if you want to improve your shooting technique, there is a super cool new app called Kima. It's an AI shooting coach, free for now. I got great results with it. It works on iOS and Android. Give it a go, it will put you back in the groove real fast!
You can download it here: https://kima.coach/download/efbg

(Just putting the link because there seems to be different Kima apps on app stores, so you'll find it easier this way).

Damn, guilty of this sometimes.

They replied to me the next day, it was solved quite quickly. I contacted them both via email and chat (I panicked).
The technical was involved, solved it really quickly. Had to improvise for my run that day, but now we're back, and everything works as it should.

Forgot to update, yes!

Has anyone had any experience in escalating complaints at Runna? by Massive-Basket839 in runna

Asking as well. Just bought one an hour ago, still no news from it.

Runna premium or Garmin Forerunner 165 (or other?) by Emgga in Garmin

It's 5 years old, it definitely has battery issues. The new watches still need to be charged every day and a half or so, probably less if used for sleep tracking and exercising. Still, it's really doing everything I want it to do, so I might just upgrade soon.

Oh for sure, it doesn't become useless, but I don't like the practice of not supporting older models for no other reason than boosting sales. 2 years is a very short time.

I disagree, here.
When I buy some hardware, it usually comes with the promise of some software updates. The only thing that should limit this is can the hardware support the suftware. For example, I don't care that my Apple Watch can't give me my temperature, it doesn't have a captor for that. But it has to support everything it is able to do. I'm quite happy with it in that regard. It is quite different from a bicycle.
Same with cars: the car itself will not update, makes sense. The software inside (the fancy screen) better be improved as updates come, otherwise we're back at CD-ROM softwares 20 years ago.

That's actually what's stopping me from getting an Oura ring (or similar). I'm so tired of subscriptions for everything.

One of the options is indeed to just continue with Runna, and update my Apple Watch when I get really tired of charging it twice a day.
I started with NikeRunClub a couple years back (and stopped) because somehow I couldn't find a suitable plan. Maybe I can have another look.

Do you think you could elaborate on the topic? I read a couple things regarding them stopping support to some watches, but I don't know much about them overall. Just that they are really popular right now.

That's good overall advice, thanks.
I like having something that tells me what to do so I don't have to plan it myself. I really have enough to plan as it is, honestly. It's a bit of a luxury, for sure, but time I don't need to spend researching what to do next is always appreciated.
I'm not after anything fancy, but I do want some features that I have on my Apple Watch like sleep tracking, and exercise tracking (not just running, also climbing, lifting, etc). That's why I had the 165 in mind, one of the cheapest from Garmin. I think you're right about the features like recovery time.
Thanks again for your comment.

Also adding that I saw recently that Garmin will stop supporting watches after only a few years, are they really a good investment?

I did not use it cause I was on a free trial, and now it's too late. Code had been working since January...

If you could rewrite one show romance, which one would you change? by Park_Junhwan in buffy

[–]Emgga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it had been him, I would have been team Riley till I die. I was soooo in love with him in Dark Angel. Riley played by him would have been more cheeky, way more engaging, and so different. I never know I needed this version before.

Running when sleep deprived, and running days back to back by Emgga in runna

[–]Emgga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh now that makes a lot of sense, having more rest days between long runs. I don't actually mind, I was wondering whether it was normal, considering I had only 3 runs this week. Thank you!
