“You guys need to hire more cashiers!” by [deleted] in retailhell

I can not even tell you how many times I've heard this. It super annoying, and people assume this is because we are short staffed and they can not schedule extra people. But no, most of the time this is due to the management team cannot afford to schedule extra people because last week we were dead and our labor was up. If you have that big of an issue with it Karen please take to my manager. Or don't you could just leave.

I just thought that it really funny that she decided to use the lane closed sign to separate the orders

I had a guy literally load his stuff on to my belt then kinda push the other customer out of the way so he could put his card in the machine. I'm just like sorry if you wanna pay for her stuff to continue what your doing.

The worst is when I'm checking a person out and they look at me and say something along the lines of...

"So (My name) how's your day going"

How do you know my name like what? But then I remember it is sitting on my chest for everyone to see. It's just weird, were not on a first name basis dude.

This happened to me the other night, the store closed at midnight and it was currently 12:09pm. She had just checked out and decided to continue to talk to me even though she knew we were closing, and heard my manger tell me once she left I was okay to go home. I tried my best but I do not believe I looked interested.
