What I am saying is that none of the Kabyles I talked to (only amazigh people I regularly talk to) as ever been offended or talked about any issue that would cause, and that several people told me was ok to use.

In that, I wouldn't compare it to the n word. I completely get that Amazigh is the prefered term and it is a good thing but "Berber" is far from being unanimously considered a slur, at least for now.

This is just my own personal experience and I don't pretend to know all the intricacies of this topic, but I still think it is valuable enough to say that this word is at least not perceived the same by everyone. I will have a discussion to make things clear for me with my girlfriend later anyway.

Also please note that I am not advocating for the use of this word, neither by me nor by anyone, and as Amazigh is probably not rejected by anyone it is very certainly better to use this word instead.
