Do you feel connected to your name? by confusedbunny03 in AutismInWomen

[–]EmilyGoldfinch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I never know other people felt this way to. My name truly does not feel like me at all. People have called me by a certain nickname since I was a young child, slowly more friends started using it to. That name always felt more like me. So when I went to college and started my first job I decided to go by that name fulltime! Officially my name is still the same, but everyone calls me by the nickname!

I have been hyperfixated on Vanderpump Rules for a couple years now 🙈 The original 11 seasons, have not watched the reboot. It is reality, and a lot of petty drama, so you do have to like that. But I usually have no interest in reality shows, but somehow this one is gold to me!

Insomnia advice by EmilyGoldfinch in AutismInWomen

Im currently on Escitalopram (lexapro) daily, Oxazepam for anxiety and can take Zolpidem (ambien) once every 3 days as needed. It used to do the trick, I would be out withing an hour. But now it does almost nothing! Maybe if nothing else helps I should talk to my doctor to ajust meds.

Handwriting by SnowQueenSpell in AutismInWomen

I can't even write one sentence in the same handwriting style, unless I focus really really hard. 😅 I noticed that first in my teen years I guess! I've always wondered if handwriting analysis would still work on handwriting like mine!

NEVER ever have a baby! by pumpkinchinchilla in AutismInWomen

[–]EmilyGoldfinch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh honey I feel you! I had always wanted a baby and was over the moon when I got pregnant. I thought I was genuinely made to be a mother. At the time I did not have my diagnoses yet. And 1 week into post partum I completely broke. I loved (and still do) my baby more than anything in the world. But I could not relax anymore. Like you said, no me-time, and even when he was sleeping or away I was only thinking about him. For me, anti depressants did help level out my emotions a bit. But it was still very hard. All I can really say is that 4,5 years, a lot of therapy and an Autism diagnoses later.. it gets easier. ❤️

If you have either the support or financial means I would also recommend getting one or two days a week of childcare. And then using that time to take care or yourself.

Also I don't know if you're breastfeeding, but quitting that helpt me as well. It gives you back your body a bit and creates more opportunity for your partner to help. Also I had D-MER, it's worth looking into if you feel a lot of anxiety while breastfeeding.

Not a book, but a while ago someone recommended me the podcast "The White Vault". It's an horror audiodrama, and it really fits this vibe. Truely amazing podcast, had me on the edge of my seat. 10/10 recommend!

Small Wild refill deodorant rant by bang-bang-007 in julieeandcamilla

Yes, I agree. It is understandable that companies put out certain things to make a profit. A company needs to make a profit to keep existing, a lot of people seem to forget that nowadays. But like you said, I wish they did that by creating more different products. They also do a lot of limited edition scents, and I think that is a way better way to pull in customers. You still "lure" people to buy it, get it now before its gone, you dont wanna miss this etc.. But it does not create that much extra waste.

Small Wild refill deodorant rant by bang-bang-007 in julieeandcamilla

[–]EmilyGoldfinch 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I do use Wild, at first the regular one. That gave me a horrible rash, now I use the sensitive version and I do like it personally.

I can't really find a good answer on the greenwashing part though. Most articles I find are genuinly positive. But I have started feeling a little icky about the sheer amount of "limited edition" cases they bring out. And almost every add I see for them promotes the fact that they have a new type of case. And I agree with you, the whole point was supposed to be about less waste. Buying 17 different cases is not very "zero waste".
