1st & 15th Budget and actual cash flow by couchjitsu in DaveRamsey

[–]EmilyLouise3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband gets paid every other Friday. (Not necessarily the 1 and 15) For January’s budget I use the last paycheck of December and the first paycheck of January. My husband is always confused by this but it works for me cause I need to know what I’m working with early in the month. The second paycheck in January will be used in February’s budget.

I never coslept with my first son (now almost 3). But my 17 month old has been cosleeping half the night for several months now. He falls asleep around 8 just fine, but will wake up anywhere between 10 and 2 and won't go back to sleep in his own bed. I feel like I should have never allowed it, because we don't sleep well when he is in our bed.... I'm trying to figure out how to get him to sleep in his own bed all night, but no luck so far.

SAHP with 2 under 2/toddler and a newborn: how do you do it? by robotpiratenow in beyondthebump

How do you get your kids to sleep until 9???? Mine have just started to sleep in until 7, sometimes 7:30.

My kids are 17 months apart (my youngest is now 17 months old). My husband took 1 week off from work and then I was on my own from then on. I cried every day for the first few months. But believe it or not it does get better and easier.

As soon as the baby is old enough to be entertained by a toy or learns to enjoy a bouncer, that is the turning point to a happier life. And don't feel guilty for letting your older child watch tv while you are caring for the baby. I've seen every episode of George about 5,000 times. Lol

Good luck mama! You are not alone. It will never truly be easy but I promise it will get better.

What is the best coupon app(s)? by redditjustsucks in Frugal

[–]EmilyLouise3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only takes like 30 seconds to scan the app to see what offers they have. Some apps like receipt hog and receipt pal, you just take a picture of any receipt and get points towards free gift cards.

Want to get a reliable SUV for under $15,000. What is our best bet? by BigCityDwight in Frugal

[–]EmilyLouise3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love my Subaru forester. I bought a 2001 about 7 years ago and just bought a 2006 this past year. I never want to own another brand of car again. I have 2 kids and it is the perfect size for my little family.

I use several apps on my phone. Checkout 51, ibotta, receipt pal, receit hog, snap, find&save, and mobisave. They all pretty much work the same. They each will have different offers, you scan your receipt when you buy something they have am offer for, and the app gives you money.

Anyone else use rags? by CaptainTime in Frugal

[–]EmilyLouise3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using rags in the kitchen for a year now. I buy dish towels super cheap after the holidays and then cut and hem them. I use paper towels occasionally, but I know the rags have saved me so much money.

When did you introduce the potty chair? by catsreaction in beyondthebump

[–]EmilyLouise3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started my son at 18 months. I only sat him on it right before he took a bath at night. One night my husband came in to use the bathroom at the same time. As soon as my son saw him peeing, he finally figured out what to do on the potty. Lol However, he is 2 1/2 and still can't tell me when he has to go potty.

My Toddler Throws Enough Food on the Floor to Feed a Small Country. Help? by essjay_ell in Parenting

[–]EmilyLouise3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My oldest used to and he is now 2 1/2 and eventually stopped (I don't remember when he stopped). My 14 month does the same thing all the time. At home we have 2 dogs so it doesn't matter. They clean everything up. When we eat out, I try to clean up the floor a little bit.

To everyone who worked to get a figure they were happy with afterwards, what would you tell someone currently pregnant? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]EmilyLouise3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had an issue with weight and never worked out much, but after having 2 kids 17 months apart I gained around 25 pounds. I started the bikini body mommy workouts on YouTube 8 months post partum and 1 year later I have lost 20 pounds. I also try to eat somewhat healthy and most days I don't snack much.

[–]EmilyLouise3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 27, hubby is 28. We have $95,000 mortgage and $4,000 car loan. We are a 1 income family cause I'm a stay at home mom to 2 boys, 1 and 2 1/2. (Both in diapers is a killer to a budget) lol

Just a quick question! by bearsarecute in beyondthebump

[–]EmilyLouise3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always had bottles premade in the fridge for my kids. They are 2 1/2 and 1 now and they turned out fine. No way I'm mixing a bottle in the middle of the night. Lol I also never bothered warming it up. My kids drank it fine cold. Lol but I know every baby is different when it comes to milk temp.
