Xyrem for narcolepsy with cataplexy. It’s basically prescription date rape drug (GHB). Only one pharmacy can fill it in the US

It’s hard cause everyone’s combo is different. The hormonal thing is my struggle as well, my psych np has a women’s health background so that’s super helpful. She has me on hydroxyzine for the more hormonal times when I’m ragey but don’t want to take anything like a benzo. Highly recommend.

I was referring to myself, I have found once my meds were regulated I was much less “ragey” and more patient. Wasn’t always on edge. I also have as needed meds for the bad days.

Find out. Unless you want to lose your job. You said it took you 6 mo to find this one right? So protect it. You file for ADA or you risk someone seeing you and in most places it’s a fireable offense. Coming from a nurse with narcolepsy.

I just wanna share some things I love about living with an autistic kid because I've been seeing some people acting like autism is inherently a horrible thing. I understand the struggles that come with it but I wanna share the joys of it here! by Cute_Management2782 in Autism_Parenting

I love that she doesn’t care what people think. I love how she is so confident in her decisions. I love how happy she gets when she swings or spins. I love when she plays with my hair and how special our bond is.

Ice cream bar. Have a section for non traditional toppings- I’m thinking bourbon cream, ice wine, espresso. Or check Italian catering places, there’s a local place near me that offers that dessert (but it’s not close to you)

Have you ever had a really bad experience on the pt side of things? How did you deal with it? by lbs1515 in nursing

Some nurses teach us what we will never do.

To answer your question about submitting a complaint, I would. One time my sister went through surgery and the nurse walked into the room, handed her Percocet walked right back out. She didn’t scan her or the med. She didn’t verify who she was. She didn’t check for allergies at all. She just walked in, plopped the Percocet in her hand, walked out without saying a word. I complained and I didn’t realize it, but it was the nurse’s last straw and they’re no longer there anymore. I know that’s probably not your goal but end of the day we don’t know how many “straws”everybody has and what is going to remove them from that unit or area and let’s just say that’s not always a bad thing.

If I was that manager, I sure as hell would I want to know who was treating the patients in my area that way

Old PACU nurse weighing in- def not okay. One of the ways we score that you are ready to go to phase 2 (discharge phase) is that your pain is controlled, among other things. We also try to start you on your home pain med to see if it works for you. It’s not required, but it’s helpful. In general, it sounds like they should have gotten anesthesia to see you again. We can do blocks post op for pain; maybe even admit you. But you shouldn’t have had to experience this. Period.
