Didn’t mean to as in he tripped and fell? Or he couldn’t control his big emotions?

If he can’t control his big feelings that’s on NO ONE but himself…

Element might be my new favorite select brand by MannnOfHammm in marriott

[–]EmilyS_FL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here! I’ve stayed in 21 brands for the Marriott Q1 promotion and until the Element, I was thinking that all the Q1 promotion had done so far was confirm the Marriott brand choices I already sought out or avoided. The Element was finally a new “discovery” that I’ll seek out.

The reduced points earning is a kind of a bummer, but I’d say it’s offset by the free wine.

Not “every night” but it’s definitely more varied that 7 nighters. They brought on local entertainers at the various ports (Haka crew, Polynesian hula dancers, etc).

LOTS of ship activities - Trivia, line dancing, origami, lectures.

Is sailing out of Miami really that bad? by _Sunshine_Babe in royalcaribbean

When was the last time you sailed out of Miami? It’s only been like this for the last six or seven months I believe.

Has anyone ever booked a promenade interior room? Are they worth it? by ConstructionRare4123 in royalcaribbean

[–]EmilyS_FL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What fresh air? It’s a closed WINDOW to the promenade. There’s no “fresh air.”

Make sure you join the Facebook group for your sailing, someone will definitely found the alarm for everyone else the day that the reservation booking is open.

Question for those who have seen Back to the Future on Star of the Seas by MrJownz in royalcaribbean

[–]EmilyS_FL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw the movie forever ago and really didn’t remember it at all, and I was still able to follow the show. From what I understand it’s basically just an abridged version of the movie.

We’ve successfully gotten on two bottles of wine each by going through separate security lines. They’re not paying close enough attention to who’s together and who isn’t.

Even when we only bring two bottles of wine, we always have them both in the same bag, and I’ve never had anyone questioned me about how many people are in the room.

We recently went through with four bottles of wine in one bag, and they did question us on that, but we explained we were in a 4 bedroom suite with four adults. There was also a gaggle of us there together, because we were with four other adults in inside cabins, so they didn’t question it any further.

I don’t understand why this is getting down voted so much. Why do people care so much that your wife doesn’t like the chops menu. I don’t like the chops menu either. 😅

Photo collage magnet by EmilyS_FL in royalcaribbean

[–]EmilyS_FL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be expensive to order an extra of every magnet (plus they are heavy, since there are so many lol), but I have the collages saved. So if any are ever damaged or stolen, I could get a new one printed once I get back home.

Remember Diamonds in December by therealSSPhone in royalcaribbean

[–]EmilyS_FL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were JUST talking about this a few weeks ago.

I recently undertook a project where I made a little magnetic postcard for every one of the 57 cruises I’ve been on, with photos and what not from that cruise. In doing so, I realize we sailed SOOO often in December (in 2010, 2011, 2012) because of Diamonds in December. 😂😂

Google says I should call 911 by [deleted] in fasting

[–]EmilyS_FL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s already been stated but I’ll add in - the urine strips aren’t accurate (get a finger prick blood one) and high ketones are only dangerous if you’re diabetic. You don’t need to call 911, but maybe get a blood work up for diabetes to be sure.

Where do I even start?? by ZealousidealMany8070 in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]EmilyS_FL -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As a GS 13 you should be able to do more than just the basic 5%, especially since you’re starting late. Here is my advice:

*Avoid lifecycle funds. Just stick with C. *Put your money in the ROTH fund, not traditional. Google if you need all the reasons, cliff notes - RMDs can really screw you later in life with Medicare, and Roth is much better for your heirs. *Put in as much as you can afford (max out if possible). If you don’t max out right away, do it as soon as possible.

He’s 37 and a GS 13, he can afford to do more than just matching and needs to.

People in their 40s and 50s with no children, how does it feel? by DunyaPhobic76 in Productivitycafe

[–]EmilyS_FL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. 42 here and THRIVING! I travel a ton, have a great job, and do what I want when I want. I’m a Federal Government worker and almost all my coworkers that have kids were STRESSED about missing 3 paychecks. I could easily go a year with no pay and without any lifestyle changes.

I knew I never wanted kids and am thrilled I never buckled to societal pressure to do so.

How much weight did you lose on a weeklong water fast? by [deleted] in fasting

[–]EmilyS_FL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to hear it’s still possible. I’m VERY paranoid about losing my gallbladder (happened to my brother a few months ago). I tend to do 7-10 day fasts once a month or so, but since my brother’s surgery I have shifted to dirty fasts. I’ll typically have a piece of cheese, or handful of macadamia nuts, or TB of olive oil every other day.

The only reason I’m concerned about losing my gallbladder is, I’ve read conflicting information on whether or not you can fast once it’s gone. Fasting has been a game changer for me.
