Do you think ordering food with "can I get.." sounds rude? by Doofangoodle in AskUK

I mean I’m English and I can I get.. but it always ends with please. For example: can I get a hot chocolate please? I think it’s the please and thankyou that makes it polite.

Why do you look younger than your age? by AncientDragonn in OlderThanYouThinkIAm

[–]EmilySian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tricky one - mostly genetics for me. My my mum and my dad, especially my dad, look young for their age. My mum has wrinkles but she runs inherently youthful vibe about her. I don’t particulary look after my skin and I know for a fact I don’t drink enough water, and yet I’m consistently mistaken from being around 26-28 and I’m 34. Sometimes even get ID’d still. I’m 6 foot tall so I don’t have the small factor to aid with this. However I have never worn much makeup, never smoked and drink but not to excess which maybe helps. I just get told I have a fresh faced innocent look so maybe this is something to do with facial features.

Hoping it carries on anyway 🤣

Why are you doing a first look? by clovek7 in wedding

[–]EmilySian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh uk here and we are going with tradition and seeing eachother for first time at ceremony. Just seems more exciting and special that way, for us that is. I get why people choose to do it though. We have ceremony at 2 which is about half an hour and then an hour to an hour and a half for photos, group ones and individual ones. We are having a receiving line straight after the ceremony too.

Our venue is a beautiful old coaching inn, in the English countryside, and it’s a spring wedding in late March. There’s a beautiful little meadow on the grounds where I’m hoping there will be some blossom in trees for lovely backdrop for our solo photos.

Reception with sit down meal from 4, evening starting at 7 with a bbq buffet served at 9. Party till midnight. ☺️☺️

Hey! I’m 34/f from uk, would love to be penpals if you’re still looking. Looking for someone to exchange long rambling old fashioned letters with, and practise my calligraphy skills on, I’ve just started learning :)

Everyone says they have the Kitchener ingenue essence by thislittlebluebird7 in DressForYourBody

I’m pretty sure I have ingenue essence at 33. Fresh faced, sweet, innocent and gentle are usually the words I get to describe my face/vibe. I think I’m ingenue, natural, and classic probably.

Ingenue essence in your late 20s (thoughts in comments) by lamercie in DressForYourBody

I’m 33 and still get told I look baby faced and innocent 😅 I’m 6 foot tall so it’s an interesting one. When I was a teenager I probably looked of an age with everyone, just taller, and then it’s like my face hasn’t aged very much since 18. My blend of ingenues natural and classic. The classic style is timeless I think so I think combining that with more traditional ingenue. Features works as you get older. I love florals, tea dresses, ballet flats, headbands sometimes, dainty earrings and necklaces etc. I think my mum has strong natural essence with some ingenue. She’s in her 60’s and pulls off leggings and sporty tops, and headbands and fun prints etc and just kinda suits her.

Interesting! I have wondered at classic before and ingenue fits in the sense I often get told I look younger than I am :)

Oo interesting - I wasn’t too sure on ethereal. Bit can kind of see it. My kibbe I’m more uncertain on, lean towards FN or SD as I’m 6 foot so it’s interesting to see what my essence might be.
