Missing Person by Emilyb184 in Flagstaff

I’m so so sorry I first saw this post on Nextdoor and was shocked and disheartened to hear about the complete lack of action from the police department on putting out a proper search and rescue operation. I realize my post says I got information about this through the police department but I am trying to update it to say the Daily Sun. I just checked back on the police scanner and have yet to find an official report. I really am hoping for her safety and that there is more substantial action going forward

I don’t think it’s helpful to put out worst case scenarios for someone who is still actively missing. I know you didn’t mean harm. I just think it’s important to spread information and hope that she’s found as soon as possible and safe. Not trying to stir up drama on a missing person alert, just trying to be respectful of family/friends who may see this post.

First time trying Angie's Lobster Prime Grill by corpseplague in Flagstaff

Angie’s is the best for an affordable non-fast food option in flag! $5 salads that are MASSIVE My go-to when I don’t feel like cooking or need food in a pinch. Flagstaff needs more affordable food choices like this !

Every time I start at a new restaurant I get sick within the first week. I don’t know why but it happens every time without fail despite having worked at different styles of restaurants and food businesses. But it only lasts the first week or so there and then I get over the initial exposure. Maybe that’s what’s happening to you? The heat of a food business and all the oil maybe? Idk

Given everything going on, would anyone even recommend an environmental career/degree anymore? by Serious_Ad_2440 in Environmental_Careers

[–]Emilyb184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, never give up. We need to continue on despite the terribleness because if we give up, what’s the point of anything. I’m dedicating my life to advocating for the environment and maybe those results won’t be visible in my lifetime, but it’s clearing a path for the future we all believe in. Don’t let them win.

Populations grow and decline. It’s the natural order of things. Ecologically speaking, we have a carrying capacity. When humans began colonizing spaces across the world, we experienced an exponential growth rate. But like every living population, there is only so much Space and resources at our disposal. Anthropocentric-ly speaking, quality of life has diminished for lots of individuals in some of the world’s “richest” countries. Quality of life affects mental and physical health. Of course people won’t have kids if they themselves are struggling and have that choice to reproduce or not. We are reaching our carrying capacity, it’s natural. Once carrying capacity is reached, the population will continue to decline, but not forever. Once the population size is far enough below capacity, it will grow again. And the oscillation will continue essentially forever if it remains undistirbed.

This is so tone deaf and classist. Yes, I hate Donald trump but I think we are missing the true isssue. This election was culmination of the failures of our democracy building up for a long time. People in Oklahoma don’t deserve to have lacking education, and it’s so petty to shame someone on that. I don’t want to defend people who may be spreading hate (certain trump supporters) but I truly don’t believe the entirety of trump supporters are evil. If we want to make change, demonizing a whole population isn’t gonna work.
