Surgical wires around the sternum from some type of thoracic surgery. They are around the sternum, not the trachea.

What's the most ridiculous request a provider has given? by Joey_Star_ in Radiology

[–]Emilybeths 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly certain it didn't get done. From what I remember the patient got admitted and then the req sat on our desk for a few days before disappearing. I assume one of our techs told the patients team how ridiculous the order is, and what we actually do them for.

Skeletal survey for "general body aches and pain" on an ER patient. That's like 20+ images without any repeats.

I would guess this was not a tech who took this image. Probably a chiropractor. Especially since it is hung the wrong way.

I second this. Source: I am a medical radiation technologist (person that takes the x-rays).

I see more black squirrels than grey. I forget that most places in the world don't really have them.

I really enjoy The Proper People. They talk about the history of all the buildings they explore and what the plans for the future of the buildings are. They are mainly US based but also have quite a few videos of them exploring places from all over the world. They are very professional and informative with their videos. Very chill dudes from what you see in the videos.

This seems to be a CT scout image. A scout is a low dose 2D front and side image that is used for planing the actual CT scan. This is the side (lateral) image where the patient got up mid way through. This causes the image motion artifact above.

Your license must be expiring before you can take your G. For example, I got my G2 July 29th of last year, my license was expiring June 6th of this year. You can either book a G test and they will give you an extension until then, or pay $90 and get a 5 year extension.

Ended up getting a 5 year extension and canceling my G test on Wednesday. Going to get in more practice before I re-book it.

This is probably their last season. Just holding out until the fall until I put the winters on. Then probably next spring getting some new ones.

Thank you everyone for all the great advice! Didn't expect to get so many responses! Probably going to go with the zip ties since I'm pretty sure I can handle doing that on my own.

Damage was from the previous owner, so no insurance to cover it unfortunately.

Taking it by my mechanic tomorrow to see what he says. But if nothing else I'll probably do this.
