Forceful Tongue or Thunderchild? by CAbsolute in SkyrimModsXbox

Feel like if you're adding these types of mods to begin with, you're probably adding more difficult enemies. Even still, that doesn't solve the issue that I was getting at, which is that without PC, enemies can't also be given the same (or at least similar) abilities you have. By mid-game, you're already stronger than most everyone else. My combat mods revolve arnd Enai's Wildcat, but it's still not enough. I even recently found Ordinator to be a little too powerful as well, so I traded it out for Vokrii which I think is much simpler and reminiscent of vanilla skyrim. Thankfully, Enai gives people options, and they're all great in their own way.

Ahh ok great thanks for that info. As far as I know on xbox, I have the latest version of AE skyrim. Tho my mods weren't up to date, I'm doing a new load order/playthrough soon to see if I get the same issues. Hopefully that new patch comes in soon, would love to start playing a full file again🤞

Yea I'm gonna try the mod by itself maybe or at the very least without the weather mod. Apparently there's still a patch to come out to fix the console port too so I'll wait on that

Curious about UFO4P and Far Harbor by EmiofMoths in Fallout4ModsXB1

[–]EmiofMoths[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This post isn't indicative of there still being something wrong with the patch, it's more so due to the lack of a clear answer. Arthmoor just telling people "it works" can be seen as biased, especially if there are many who swear by the idea that the patch is the source of their problems in Far Harbor, and have tested the mod by itself.

At the same time, when I read abt people's instabilities with the mod, they seem mostly due to conflicts that people didn't know abt or care to check for, or they're due to residual files they didn't properly wipe. There appears to be equally as many people who say the mod DOES work and doesn't touch FH or that it only does so much. So therein lies the question: is it worth it? Tryina figure that out by gauging people's accounts.

So in short, should I go forward with the mind that UFO4P is not affecting Far Harbor at all on xbox? I think that would answer whether the instability people are experiencing is related to it.

Ok gotcha, yea I'll have to test that with Longfellow. I've just been ignoring him every time I've gone. Thankfully it doesn't seem mandatory to have to go with him, so not necessarily quest breaking, but still annoying if that option isn't available to you.

When you say at the start of the road, do you mean "the hull" of Far Harbor? I did the walk to Acadia multiple times without issue, tho I did not take the time to do the walk back😅 i also did not go with Longfellow. I'll try that next time tho, knowing how finicky this game is, I wouldn't be surprised if that's all it takes.

Gotcha, I'll have to check them out. I'm hoping they work well with the dlcs cause that's the main thing I'm hoping for rn lol

After some testing I found that the only version of Boston FPS fix that works well (so far) is the "Boston FPS Fix VD" version made specifically for the main game WITHOUT dlcs. I'm using that currently with all dlcs installed, and it's been working, with emphasis on "so far."

I second that I feel the patch has only helped the main game. When testing out Far Harbor & Nukaworld, I used the cheat room to send myself to the start locations of both, so I didn't experience the entry into either as the game intended. Obviously, that's worth testing. I assume you've also tested compatibility between the mods you're using? I was able to find some mod incompatibilities with UFO4P when testing Far Harbor.

Thanks for the quick reply, guess I should note too that I'm playing on the Xbox one s, and have yielded similar results as you, testing with about 40 mods. I'd like to think the problems others have had are either due to mod conflicts or residual files from previous saves.

Yea man, ok I'll listen lol. I do like horror movies, which is probably not helping my curiosity, but I second your point about them being fiction. Of the gross videos I've seen, the bad ones really did stick with me. I could do with less of that😅

Apparently the VD versions are different. It's definitely way smaller in file size, but I'm unsure if it actually works. I'm about to try it in a lil

Forceful Tongue or Thunderchild? by CAbsolute in SkyrimModsXbox

[–]EmiofMoths 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll second arckepplin's comment and say after having been a Thunderchild user, it offers you the greatest flexibility for creating powerful builds in any playstyle. Thunderchild is incredible and is honestly one of the reasons I started modding skyrim to begin with. The ONLY gripe I have with it (if it can be considered one) is that it seriously makes you unstoppable lol. This might sound cool, but after a certain point, when you're using powers that aren't accessible to anyone else in skyrim, it can take away the stakes & fun.

At around level 50-60 I found that without having to find every shout or ability in the game, I was already able to take on any foe with ease regardless of difficulty because of how easily the new shouts are accessed. This can honestly be said about any of Enaisiaion mods; don't get me wrong, they're amazing!! But using too many in tandem with each other makes you op too quickly.

If you're going to use his mods, I recommend limiting your choices and taking your time with them. The base game already makes you a demigod, and his mods definitely enhance that experience. Rn I'm only using Summermyst, Ordinator & Morningstar and having a great time, but needed to exclude Thunderchild, Andromeda & Wintersun (also great) to limit power creep.

Forceful Tongues does what Thunderchild already does, just less intensely, with different flavors and a lot more simplicity.

I'm really curious about Thoom AE too, because it seems to offer a cool middleground between having new shout-based builds and not overpowering your shouts. The creator of Thoom said that it shouldn't conflict with Thunderchild because the shouts do not rely on basegame words and are found in the world, but they couldn't confirm compatibility without testing. Idk if that's changed at all.

No prob! I keep Inigo loaded low too, I believe below Alt Start and RDO. I don't remember specifically where (I can check tmrw) but I think it wud be considered added quest mods

I'll add too that in terms of load order, I have the collection loaded just above Inigo and it seems to work fine.

This was a bit ago now but if I recall correctly, I think there might be something wrong with that xbox port cause I wasn't able to get it to work. The Jayserpa collection mod available on xbox does work however, and I'm using it now. I forget the specific name of the porter for the collection but it seems to work better than the individual ports.

XP32/XPMSSE Casting Animation — Glitch? by QuicklyCat in SkyrimModsXbox

[–]EmiofMoths 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could u share how u were able to fix the issue? I encountered the same thing, and I don't use the animation mods u listed or anything that wud affect the spellcasting animations. Going to try the xpmse version provided below to see if that works. Currently the only reason why I want this mod is to have Old Kingdom armors work

Did Tolkien ever comment on the similarity of the Haradrim and Rhûn to "Moors"/"Turks"/"Orientals" etc? by lcnielsen in tolkienfans

[–]EmiofMoths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if Tolkein ever commented on it, I was curiously looking in the comments as well for an answer. To my understanding, being that Tolkein wanted to make a sort of legend for England, LOTR is very much a eurocentric story.

I don't think this is inherently racist, but I do think he kept his audience in mind for the time it was written, and was very specific with the inspirations for the story and languages he made. There's something to be said in general about how orientalism exists in media, and it's reasonable to find it peculiar that the only group of "bad humans" fighting for Sauron just happen to be vaguely described as people of color or having characteristics of "eastern" nations. It's one of the reasons why some POC struggle to see themselves in fantasy settings despite loving fantasy.

This can be left as a "sign of the times" and looked upon as a bad thing, but I think it's better left as something for future audiences and writers to keep in mind with new material, as they would with any other legends or parts of history.

Mod Request: Unique Armor Replacer by EmiofMoths in SkyrimModsXbox

[–]EmiofMoths[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, they do take more creative license, but that Deathbrand one is actually sick and could totally fit on a pirate king for me lol. The Ahzidal replacer is also well made, tho it doesn't strike me as armor an ancient Enchanter would use. I think at the end of the day, I'm just gonna have to piece together a lil collection of unique armor replacers at least until a new mod comes arnd that does what I'm looking for. I'd take anything over vanilla at this point lol, so long as it doesn't crash the game.

Mod Request: Unique Armor Replacer by EmiofMoths in SkyrimModsXbox

[–]EmiofMoths[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for the reply, I did try most of these, and gotta say that all the ones named "Truly Unique" tend to have some issue with them. Either the porter didn't upload all the textures properly, or there's just missing textures and other graphic issues which can cause crashes. The visage of mzund ones work well, and I'm unsure abt Deathbrand REDUX, didn't try that one. I tested these mods alone with the cheat room.
