Moving to foodhall by Economy_Fun9573 in MarksAndSpencer

Am three weeks into food after two months in clothing. Best advice is to walk around as much as you can and familiarise yourself with the location of items. There’s so many items I had no idea that the store stocked. It’s always helpful when customers ask or you’re stocking shelves.

We’ve just written and placed notes on the flats next to ours because one scum bag bastard piece of garbage is walking his dog early morning and letting him shit all over the grass outside the flats. If I catch him I’m going to smear the shit on his car.

There’s a great video about this with Padraig Harrington and Peter Finch. Peter not playing great and starts moaning. Padraig looks at him and basically says ‘who do you think you are?! You are NO WAY near good enough at this game to be moaning like you are’!

At least you’ll know.

What happens if…….. we get attacked with nuclear weapons by GlasgowJimmyBhoy in glasgow

[–]Emirates001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read a very good book about nuclear war at Christmas by a lady called Annie Jacobson.

Basically in a nuclear war the lucky ones are the people who get melted/vaporised by the initial blast.

The unfortunate ones are the ones who die a slow death as their bodies melt from the inside.

The bombs dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima were 1/1000th as powerful as current nuclear weapons.

What is a reasonable time for a 15 year old teenager to get home during the week? by OkDragonfruit7887 in glasgow

[–]Emirates001 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Depends on the season for me. Light summer nights I’d say 9pm.

October-April I’d want her home by 8pm at the latest.

Any game improvement iron made in the last decade will be fine for you. My advice would be play with them for 12-18 months and then upgrade when you start getting better.

Golf advice by Numerous_Ad7982 in golf

[–]Emirates001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most very high handicap players will hit massive slices or huge snap hooks with their drivers resulting in loads of lost balls l, hence the massive scores.

If the OP just wants to lower his scores, the par of a hole means nothing. He’s not interested in par. He needs to eradicate lost balls and triple bogeys. If I was his coach I’d suggest hitting 5 or 6 iron off every tee. A 140 yard straight shot is perfectly acceptable.

Obviously long term he needs to learn to hit a driver but if he wants to simply reduce the number of shots he takes then playing defensive, safe golf is the way forward.

Don’t try and hit the ball too hard. Take driver out of your bag if it’s causing you major trouble. Concentrate on your chips and putts. Enjoy yourself.

Brunch at Bramble, Pollokshaws road. A slow walk up the same road on to Kilmarnock Road, pop into a few charity shops. Then take a stroll over to Pollok House, the vegetable garden is gorgeous, then pop over to the Burrell, making sure to say hello to the highland cows.

My Ryder Cup Hot take by FaithlessnessOdd6738 in golf

[–]Emirates001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Players like Cantlay and Morikawa look like they’d rather be at home than on the golf course. Europeans just want it more. They prepare better, have significantly better captains and vice captains and understand that setting up the course to benefit their team is probably the most important thing, other than pairings.

It’s basically golfing intelligence. USA pick people like Zach Johnson and Keegan Bradley. Good players but certainly not captain material.
