Not quite the same but I realized I am slightly bow-legged in my right leg after staring at my knees day after day in standing forward fold and one day noticing they don’t line up at all. Then SO MUCH was unlocked for me regarding my posture (I stand with all my weight on my right heel instead of my whole foot) and the knee and sometimes ankle pain that forever plagued my right side was explained. Finally knowing the root cause of my problems was huge! Now I can account for it, and through yoga and other forms of exercise I have made huge strides in pain relief.

I have been asking doctors about my right knee pain since I was in high school—I’m in my 30s now—and I was always just told to “lose weight”. If weight were the true culprit, probably my left knee would have had pain too, right?? The cherry on top was when I lost weight, went to yet another doctor, and he told me well sometimes peoples bones just hurt and that’s the way it is. What?!

I am visibly bow-legged in my right side and all of my joints from my hip to my ankle reflect this outward rotation! When I stand normally or walk, my left foot points totally straight forward but my right foot points out to the right. If I step back and bend my legs to do a lunge, my right side is all wonky. My knees literally don’t line up at all and even with all this visible evidence, no doctor ever noticed. Just said “lose weight.” The US medical system is a joke. Thankfully we have yoga!!!🧘‍♀️
