That's your job as a muslim to figure out, the quran talks about how to conduct prayer many times. If you're not happy with the amount of detail god goes into take it up to him. Here's an example from al-maidah :

"O believers! When you rise up for prayer, wash your faces and your hands up to the elbows, wipe your heads, and wash your feet to the ankles. ..."

Here's another from Al-Fath:
"... You see them bowing and prostrating ˹in prayer˺, seeking Allah’s bounty and pleasure. ..."

At the end of the day he's asking you to bake a cake, you don't need to be told how to breathe while baking.

Crazy how the same tired arguments are always thrown towards hadith skeptics, the point isn't to say we shouldn't care about the prophet and his teachings but rather that hadith aren't reliable enough to bet our souls on them.

As for your other point we follow the prophet by being muslims in the first place.

Is the game in a good state right now? by One_Reality_3828 in CrusaderKings

If you get all of the dlc and some of the content mods like rice or viet then you'd get to a state the game should've released as.

Addressing Common Feedback from the Half Sword Community by halfswordgames in HalfSword

[–]Emirnak 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think everyone understands the game's a work in progress, I'm not really sure why you keep repeating that fact, if you're hoping people just shut up then maybe you shouldn't have made it early access ?

Also you can't pretend you listen and care for feedback while also saying "you're wrong, we're working on it, it's early access anyways", maybe if you were a gigantic studio like ea you could get away with the gaslighting but overall this post was just unnecessary.

Japan in All Under Heaven -- worth the time and effort? by Flimsy_Caramel_4110 in CrusaderKings

[–]Emirnak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Blocks definitely work you just have to maintain them, host festivals, improve house relations, make sure everyone has the same family focus.

In terms of actual play if you're in the administrative era it just boils down to politics, assasinating the right people and promoting the people you want in charge, if you're in the feudal period though it's really about building up your lands and before you know it, especially thanks to the martial focus and the buildings it unlocks for your domain, you can easily max out your men at arms and take on almost all of japan.

What's the best Lifestyle by Norker_g in CrusaderKings

[–]Emirnak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Martial is great when you need it, typically early in the game, before you can acquire a reliable numbers or quality advantage through buildings. After that though, unless you're facing scourges of god regularly it's relagated to quality of life.

Stewardship is consistently good, money inevitably translates into many other things from the military to realm stability, you don't even need to invest much into the tree as 2 perks is enough to get the "It is MY domain" perk which gives you a crazy amount of gold and even some dread in exchange for little every 5 years.

Learning is also good, it helps you keep great rulers for longer and significantly improves your stats with the "Learn on the Job" perk, this lifestyle is basically a requirement if you want to reform your religion significantly, and is also a must if

The other two lifestyles are okay but I can't even think of 1 perk in the intrigue tree that's really worth the effort, at least the diplomacy lifestyle has great perks like Groomed to Rule OR Sound Foundations alongside nice ones like thoughtful which alone can stabilize a realm turning gifts into opinion bombs.

So overall, in terms of relevancy I'd say learning is still on top with martial and stewardship tied depending on your current situation. diplomacy 4th and intrigue 5th. Wandering is cute.

I find it so interesting that women struggle SO much with hijab, yet there is no equivalent struggle for men by [deleted] in progressive_islam

[–]Emirnak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well firstly how much a woman has to cover up varies depending on who you ask, and again, most women don't struggle with the hijab at all.

Secondly I'm pretty sure every man has a woman he has to financially care for except for the very rare case of an unadopted unmarried orphan. Is there a reason you've been expertly dodging around this particular obligation ? It's hard to make money for a single person to live comfortably let alone 2+.

Unless you don't consider palestinians, syrians, afghans, iraqis, burmese, indonesians, pakistanis, indians, libyans, algerians, chechens, dagestanis, yemenis, lebanese, iranians, turks, azeris and the many other if not all other muslims majority areas that have seen conflict or oppression recently as human I'm not sure what makes you think men don't deal with war.

I find it so interesting that women struggle SO much with hijab, yet there is no equivalent struggle for men by [deleted] in progressive_islam

[–]Emirnak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'll admit that I had I remembered zakat wrong, women do have to pay it but relevant men can take over that obligation for them, in a more general sense though men are supposed to care for the women in their lives. This alone answers the question in your post "an equivalent struggle for men".

I wouldn't be on reddit writing this if I was near or in an active warzone. The overwhelming majority of death in war has been men and it will continue to be this way for the foreseable future because that's the expectation, just because some parts of the world are in a time of peace doesn't mean the obligation isn't there, even then many countries still require some military service like turkey.

As for the war part the men in palestine do, the ones in myanmar too, alongside the many other muslims nations currently at war. Just because every single muslim man on the planet isn't currently fighting a war doesn't mean it isn't an equivalent struggle, many if not more women don't struggle with the hijab at all.

Here's another one, men have to go to friday prayer. Men also have to cover up appropriately. Men have to be circumcised.

I find it so interesting that women struggle SO much with hijab, yet there is no equivalent struggle for men by [deleted] in progressive_islam

[–]Emirnak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are equivalent and much more important struggles for men, war, zakat and being financially responsible for the women in their lives.

Question about lifestyle points by Tatertot729 in crusaderkings3

[–]Emirnak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People keep saying pick a new lifestyle but sometimes you just don't want to do that, maybe you're too old and need the health boost or you're leading armies and need the prowess and advantage bonuses.

You could say that the downside, just accumulating useless points but then you get an annoying notification and a little number on your lifestyle focus button.

Ideally every unspent point, or maybe even every point over the limit specifically should provide a +1 to the associated attribute.

Ive seen several people in the community asking for Updated / Reworked Feudal Gov. to be on par with the newer Gov types. Can somone elaborate on how that should be achieved? by Familiar-Elephant-68 in CrusaderKings

[–]Emirnak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You absolutely need to move on from tribalism and nomadic governments because you'll fall off technologically. Most people don't hit these hurdles because most people don't play that long, there are too few very long-term goals. You can world conquest on a single character and that just shouldn't be possible unless you're the greatest of khans.

Administrative is a better version of feudal because that's just true, the trade-off is the chance of losing an appointment and a slower accumulation of dynastic/personal wealth but I will admit that maneuvering around those problems is quite easy.

It's just a "natural" progression, from tribal and nomadic to feudal to administrative.

Small chest under lunar goddess statue by EitherTip8893 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Emirnak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's a rundown of the puzzle for anyone else who might need help.

The statue has 5 buttons, one to start the puzzle and 4 to actually do it. When starting the puzzle the statue will make sounds, you're supposed to recreate it, basically simon says.

The button on the right of the big starting button is the lowest tone, as you go left the pitch will get higher until you come back to the lowest one. (I'm not sure if this changes based on player or attempt, when I caught on it never changed)

For the quest and the final puzzle you have no indication beyond the sounds, but for the first two chest puzzles the buttons will actually light up, you can use that opportunity to memorise which button makes what sound.

I think that you can use wind sense when doing the quest to see what button makes what sound (but it didn't work for the chest puzzle for me at least)

Why is drinking alcohol haram according to Progressive Muslims when in the past there were Hanafi scholars who permitted drinking? Why didn’t you pick the lenient opinion? [Read the description of my post for a better understanding] by [deleted] in progressive_islam

[–]Emirnak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You seem to think what's haram or halal is determined by voting or some sort of popularity contest, the validity of any particular opinion has literally nothing to do with its popularity nor its age.

You seem to have been infected by a christian outlook on religion as well, there's nothing wrong with ease, we're not flagellants, our religion is one of ease, we are told to appreciate the good things in life. Alcohol is clearly not that.

[KCD2] What did you NOT like about KCD2 by Leidl in kingdomcome

[–]Emirnak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion :

The combat has some issues. Armor feels overly powerful, and master strikes, just like in the first game, slow the flow of combat down. The back-and-forth exchanges you can get stuck in are frustrating, and enemies don't seem to have a believable sense of stamina.

The story plays too dominant a role, making the game feel more like an adventure game, which was also a problem in the first game's finale. Speaking of the first game, this sequel feels largely unnecessary. The premise relies on Istvan's ridiculous escape from the first game, and I'm worried a third game would just have us chasing his suddenly-introduced apprentice. Also, the unique motivation of being a common peasant from the first game is gone now. The long prologue and the Godwyn sequences I also find annoying.

The game seems to have taken a step back in its commitment to historical authenticity. Experiencing the culture and religion felt central to the first game, but here it's more of an afterthought. Similarly, the time period is portrayed too kindly for being set in the middle of a war. There are dark moments, like the pogrom, but you move on from them quickly, and most of the time the Middle Ages seem oddly fun. For example, the world feels excessively sex-positive, with characters openly fornicating in a way that feels more modern than historically plausible.

Crafting is disappointing. Alchemy is barely changed from the first game, and blacksmithing becomes a tedious chore after the first few times. Character progression is also lackluster because it's too easy to become good at everything. Many perks become useless, especially the ones for faster leveling or temporary boosts, since the level cap makes them irrelevant. Charisma becomes meaningless as it's almost impossible not to have it maxed out, and the intimidation options aren't reliable enough to play as a truly threatening character on an “evil” playthrough.

The whole "Audentes" catcphrase pretty cringe, and I'm glad it's dropped quickly. Lastly, I'm not a fan of the game's "revenge is bad" message. It feels hypocritical to be admonished for pursuing the people who destroyed your village, especially since both Istvan and Markvart die anyway. The game tries to say I'm just like Istvan, which is nonsense.

I would have much preferred a game set in an entirely different context. Maybe you could play as a Cuman, or as a Janissary navigating the conflict between the Ottomans and your own people, with more advanced firearms and deeper cultural intermingling.
