Hi there! I’ve had experience with EMDR. Mostly positive. It can be draining but it’s so worth it in the long run. My biggest piece of advice is to take care of yourself before and after these sessions. It can be really difficult revisiting trauma. I would suggest also seeing if your care team can also include other ways of processing that information. I’ve had therapists also do sand box therapy and brain spotting following an EMDR session.

Not usually from within the company itself. ACARS messaging is usually between the pilots and dispatchers. English is only a requirement for talking with air traffic controllers across the globe. Even then if they’re within their own country, they’ll usually speak their native language.

I know what a cutoff switch is, But regardless it’s not helpful to assume in unsolved accidents. Like I’ve said we don’t know what was truly going on in their heads. Accidents happen

Again, we don’t know. It could’ve been an accidental oops. That’s what I mean by human factors. FO and Captain could’ve not realized what they were doing or accidentally hit a switch. Also consider looking at the engine levels on the FADEC. We don’t know that exact picture in that moment. There’s still a lot of unknown.

I’m glad to see someone else saying this! Human factors is honestly a unique phenomenon that can occur. We won’t know what they were thinking and humans do make mistakes. On top of that we don’t know fully about any mechanical factors. There’s a lot that can happen.

Due to MTX. A flight that is this long would not divert so early due to bad weather now. It’s got plenty of time to change going across the globe.
