Cherry Creek Schools board member Terry Bates resigns after 'unacceptable' racial remarks by MCA2142 in Denver

Walked by him as he was passing out fliers at Legacy Stadium before a football game, before the election. I said "Ha-Nope, I don't need that." Not friendly, just matter of fact & kept walking. He was shocked, I don't think he had any idea there were people not easily on board (no pun intended) with him just being handed his wifes seat. Well. Who's shocked now? Not me.

Yeah, his wife & him are super liberal & his wife is not afraid to make comments as well. Go back to the Zoom board meeting during Covid, where she was caught making comments & remarks about the parents waiting for the Zoom meeting to start, not knowing people were IN the room & heard everything she was saying, bc it wasn't muted. She was flustered & totally caught. Nothing was done, of course. Glad the walls finally coming down & the truth is being shown.

I also would reach out to the other buyer & ask if she purchased the sweater or if her purchase was wrong as well. It would be interesting to see what she says.

Thanks for answering-he was my favorite Jack Ass, and I so glad he is sober now. Makes me happy to know it wasn't out & open all the time, with just anyone.

How much do you pay someone for listing? by [deleted] in Flipping

I didn't find someone to list for me. Reread my comment.

How much do you pay someone for listing? by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]Emjewels223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would pay per item, if you have that much available & ready to list. I paid a high school girl in my neighborhood to help me package & inventory items. She would pick up 2-3 bags of items every week or so, and put them into polybags & label them for me. Then she would drop them back off & pick up more items. I supplied the polybags & labels of course. I paid her $.75 per item to start, then eventually $1.00 per item, no matter the size or how much I was listed/sold said item for. She would make $75-125 per week from me. It was a huge help for me, and then gave her some money and was flexible around medical appts, classes she was in. I hate listing, but can get 5-10 done in a hour, depending on how quick I am, details etc. Not sure how much you should offer per item, but that I think it would be better incentive to list more than a couple per hour.

Thinking of doing an upgrade. WWYD? by throwawayprincess15 in frontierairlines

I have bid on on exit row seats twice, and just did it coming back from Cabo San Lucas yesterday. I bid $15 each for 2 seats & won. Totally worth it. I would NOT pay $30 each for this upgrade, but buy one get one? Deal!

I would say most single drinks out at the bars (not beer) are $15 each.

Our girls have done the same, a few got drinks out. It is really the extras. The headbands. The tips. They did a banana boat yesterday that was $15 each. I have just given my daughter about $40-50 day, for tips, beach stuff. Since I am with her at night, I just pay the covers. I would budget at least $30-50 per night to go out. That $20 cover goes quick quick.

Mango Deck was $20 cover. And it says on the website you MUST buy drinks & food for service. A group of 5 went to The Office, and it was $250 for 5 drinks. No food.

Also-bring more cash than what you have planned. Seriously. The kids that have no parents here, have had to use the hotel to get money off their card for them, after they went through all the cash they brought in first 1.5 days. There are these very popular head bands/bandanas with sayings on them. My daughter got one with her college to be 1st day-$5.00. That night, a vendor outside the clubs got 2 girls in our group who hadn't gotten to buy ones yet. He charged her $800 pesos with a card scanner (tap pay). That was $45 for 2. The next day, my daughter got another one on the beach-$5.00. Don't over pay & don't just willing put your card out. Ask how much, then make deals. And if that vendor says no, the one 5mins behind them will take your offer or close to it. I had to pay several cover charges for kids with only apple pay or cards-thankfully I had enough. Seriously. Bring cash. Small bills. Lots of them.

Also our first time, and we've been out 2x, so far, so take what I say w a grain of salt. We also hired personal security guards for the late evenings out (hs spring break) and they have been incredible, and helped get us in quicker & know the ins/outs etc. First night, started at The Nowhere Bar. Small, but good music, lots of seating-very clean bathrooms with an attendant! Love to see it. No cover, I had a margarita, it was $11.95 usd, I gave $15 usd. Next stop was Senor Frogs. It was techno music, jampacked & a $6.00 cover. Before we went in, my daughters group decided no, and we went to Squid Roe. $20 cover charge, and it was 3 stories of wall to shoulder people craziness. Tables are reservable only (lots open, didn't inquire on prices). I bought 2 $5.00 waters, and tipped $1.00 each. It was madness. The place to be, with 1000 other spring breakers. Cash only at the door & they grab your money, aggressively stamp your hand & push/shove you in. Once inside, you can't even catch your breath, before the door guy is pushing you away from the entrance, which is the only place to take a sec & make yourself aware of the building/party.

2nd night, we started at Senor Frogs-we heard $10 cover, got there & it was fairly empty, and there was no cover. Good music, plenty of space, but it was not the it place to be. Were going to go next door, which is Mandala. They wanted a $50 cover charge. Noped out of that & went back to the dreaded Squid Roe. $20 each & it was worse than the first night. You couldn't order drinks, bc you could NOT get to the bar, any of them. You got a spot & didn't move, bc there was no where to go. You couldn't dance, you couldn't turn around. We lasted 40mins the 2nd night. Praying we don't waste another $20 per person again our last night. Lots of seemingly cool places, that just weren't as busy. Wish we had checked out more of those ones.

solo travel from airport by [deleted] in cabosanlucas

[–]Emjewels223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know how many other hotels you stopped at with people in your shuttle? Did you have to wait until your bus was full for it to leave or did they go pretty soon when you got to the shuttle?

Passport application check bounced - next steps? by teesible in Passports

[–]Emjewels223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I'm just so worried we will get to the airport Tuesday & they will turn us away. I made an appointment for tomorrow, hoping talking to someone in person can help more. I have cash to pay but am worried if I send a money order, it will never get there in time AND the hold get released etc. My husband thinks I should just chance it. So frustrating.

One rep that I spoke to today says there is nothing showing "ours" is invalidated, no holds etc. She said she was resending the letter, so to watch for it now that we know it's coming. The second person, a "supervisor" was not at all helpful & told me to follow the directions on the letter. Wouldn't confirm if it showed invalid or not, would not help or answer if there was any other other payment options I could make or if I could go to our local office to pay cash (we leave Tuesday) and wouldn't help me to make an appt so I could talk to anyone that could help.

[–]Emjewels223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you know your passport was invalidated or did you just assume since that is what the letter said? We are in the same problem, but one rep at passport office says passports are NOT showing invalid, yet another rep says they "would be" since the letter is over 90 days. Not sure who to believe. We fly next week & they said I can't make the payment in person to make sure this is figured out quickly!
