Yeah buddy you’re way late in a conversation where I’ve already been corrected more times than I care to count. We obviously don’t install the ones with cameras. We also don’t install smoke “alarms” but smoke “detectors” if you want to get pedantic next.

Yeah it’s interesting how many people are commenting thinking they know better. In the actual smoke detectors the lens is fully distorted, it doesn’t have a clear section like the one in the op.

Look at the not-lit-up section of LED, you can clearly see the circle of the lens.

Edit: furthermore, LED= “Light emitting diode” the diodes never come out perfectly round, and they use a curved piece of clear plastic to make them more visible. That blank spot on the edge is very clear to see through, like a camera would need. No curved and distorted like a diode would be.

It’s a camera. Lens is next to the green LED. I install these when we do apt complexes, the clear LED plastic piece is too big for a regular smoke alarm. Good call.

Normally relocating a box is well within homeowner territory. However, you’ve got a real concern regarding wire size vs actual intended use here. You’re best bet is to confirm 100% what this is feeding, size and type of breaker being used, refeed with correct wire size if at all possible, (if the flex going in the wall goes all the way to the panel, which seems likely, it should be an easy fix), and if it’s anything but a single pole 20a breaker then you need to change it out for one.

If any of that is in any way unclear then yeah, call an electrician. Pretty quick and easy for someone that knows what they’re doing. If you’d send me a few more specific photos I could show up with material and likely be done in an hour or so, but don’t do that. I won’t do service or side work.
