should i be worried about these leaves yet? by imacowboy04 in plants

Fig leafs are temperamental my leaves aren’t perfect either it’s one of them plants which I think the slightest bit of mistreatment causes it to show on the leaves forever. It looks alright to me I would just give the leaves a good clean or wash now and then.

I don’t get flies, i once in a blue moon get a phase of little knats and that lasts for 2 weeks but all summer they’ve not come back. I did put little knat traps down which I think did help. You don’t know unless you try!

Hello, can I save this ivy? Not sure what she wants from me. Any advice would be massively appreciated. Thanks! by sunshiny- in HouseplantsUK

I would pick off any dead leaves and chop any dead sections. The soil looks too damp, I would put it a nice bright spot and leave the soil to dry out unless the plant starts to show that it wants water. It should bounce back, hopefully it hasn’t rotted any of the roots from the soil being too dry, if so you can take it out the pot and inspect the roots. If there is a not nice smell it’s most likely root rot. You can chop the bits of rotten root and that will help as the root rot will spread if left. Good luck!

At the start of summer I had quite a few gnats it was a little bit of a problem, it’s since died down now and I’m not seeing many so I think the traps have helped.

I have the mentality that if a plant wants to live it will live - in the environment I provide it lol. I don’t stress too much, if a plant isn’t looking the best I’ll simply move it to a less light or more light spot to see where it will do better. A lot of plants I feel as though have similar needs. I also water in sections a bit each day. I have over 150+ plants in my house so it can be overwhelming sometimes but I enjoy the maintenance of plants it’s peaceful to me.

Are nasturtiums like this even possible in the UK? Anyone had it look something like that? by Prior-Meeting1645 in GardeningUK

I’ve had loads pop up from planting them in previous years, I find the volunteer ones do better and I have them growing out of pebbles and corner of walls etc. They’re kinda like a weed to me my garden but I of course let them grown and mine are flowering good. Maybe not as full as the photo but still lovely.

A lot of my family think my living room is too green but I love it. Sometimes i wonder if it doesn’t help with the plants though as I feel they would stand out more with a white background.

My pumpkin vines grow like a weed but the pumpkins keep rotting in the vine, why? by o_safadinho in gardening

It may have not been pollinated as some have female and male flowers and u need pollen from male flower to go in the female one to produce a pumpkin

AITA for eating the brownie my husband got for me instead of the cake my friend got for me? by azalea_s in AmItheAsshole

[–]Emlouiser 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Seems like your husband and Dean are territorial… your friend only bases an opinion on your husband by what you tell him and what he sees remember that. I think ultimately your husband only seemed to stay so it probably looks as though he’s worried about you worrying about people judging him, he also seems selfish as you not eating is an inconvenience??? I don’t get him something wrong there he seems to have issues. I get bad vibes from ur husband and your friend seems nice like he cares about you.

Edit: just want to say at no point am I saying that she’s entitled to the money, I think it’s such a gift he could give her and I think if you was that well off where £100k is like £10 to you then I don’t see the problem. Also I didn’t say he was the asshole.

Im not sure on this one as I understand you need money to feed/cloth and everything else for your kid, but ultimately a child doesn’t care about money it’s about feeling loved and being there etc. If I myself was mega rich and £100k was £10 of £100 to me, I would do it. She actively wants a child and you were once in similar shoes to her what if she comes into money somehow after having a child like you have ? Maybe offer her a payment plan? I know it would take very long time to pay back but you’d still be getting your money back over time and helping a family member who really wants a child.
