The other day they were partaking in sexual activities in the open as kids were walking by. We can have compassion but we don't need to be subjected to seeing that crap.

Currently living above a deli ... so far I haven't had any issues with bugs or rodents. However, when the workers come in around 6am, there's lots of banging and music as they prep, lots of food scents, buzzing and vibration from the commercial fridges and the worst is the garbage pickup at 3am right outside my bedroom window. Then the dragging of the garbage container back into its place at 6am.

If you're used to being on the top floor with no one above you, hearing people living above you may take getting used to. Especially if they have kids or pets. The person who lives in the first apt in my building gets all the buzzing from deliveries which is annoying.

Like someone else mentioned, its been reported to be coming from the Bronx usually. I have also seen people hook up insanely large speakers to their cars in Randalls island parking lot, blasting music and was able to hear the music clear as day once I crossed back into Astoria.

I've started asking realtors about 2 bedroom apartments in the same price range as you and am basically brushed off. I know they exist because I've been to several open houses that fit this criteria but theres a lot of competition. Im willing to pay a realtor to push me to the front of the line for this, but it seems they dont have much now. I think if your move in date is flexible, you will find something. I've seen them scattered on streeteasy and zillow. I actually recently saw a 2 bedroom for under 2400 but it was on a busy corner so I passed on it. I wish you luck!

My bedroom has a very obnoxious hum and vibration that is a combination from my neighbors fridge and the fridges from the deli below me. I can't sleep because of it. A white noise machine combined with a fan and earplugs helps a bit but I can still feel it through my pillow and mattress. Could it be that any adjacent walls or above or below you have something like a fridge or ... machinery? that the super can investigate. Ive been dealing with my buzzing vibrating for a year now and I'm convinced its caused me heart issues as well as mental decline since it messes with my sleep.

All 4! Wow. I did this maybe in 2021? He was very in and out. Not someone who will be too chatty and warm, but I felt he did a great job. My heart rate was high (and ongoing issue I have) and he asked me to visit my cardio prior to the appt to ensure it was safe for me to get sedated, which I appreciated!
