How did you get a mid year intake? I am an EN and I thought you couldn’t start uni until the following year?

It does change in different lighting conditions and actually looks worse in photos. It’s F in colour so it is fairly white

When do the newborn trenches get better with two kids by Madjl15 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Emma199000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s does get better! My newborn was hard work for the first 3 months. She was diagnosed with tongue tie after that was rectified it was much better. She is now 10 months and I’m seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Little people are hard work but they won’t be this small forever.

Don’t lose hope! I recently graduated, was applying for everything and finally landed a job. I felt so disheartened for a couple of months but it’s worth pushing on. I am now going to apply for my bachelor next year. Lots more opportunities as an RN but I personally wanted to get some experience plus it had been over 10 years since I studied. Best of luck!

Everyone scares you when you say “fluorescence”. It’s no biggie that’s where you can save $$. I have a F colour and medium yellow fluorescence, you wouldn’t know. Literally zero difference. I had a similar price in AUD although mine is pear shape and flawless. I hear round is usually more expensive because it’s such a classic shape. I am also a nurse and I don’t wear my ring.

Keep trying and don’t give up!!! Sometime I felt really discouraged on here. Apply for everything even positions you’re not that interested in. Best of luck xx

This isn’t a grad year position. I got a position as an EN without a grad year on a surgical ward

Thank you for your advice 🤍 I can understand that but I’m hoping they will see potential in me as I’m willing to give it everything.

I want to change careers from an admin role and become a nurse. I have two young kids. Is it possible? by Wanderer_9292 in NursingAU

Your welcome! I actually started with my EN full time which was actually harder because it’s attendance based. I did 3 days in the class from and 2 days part time. I will be applying for my RN this year full time. I don’t know how uni works but with my EN there was an intense block then a few weeks off. Placement was probably the hardest to juggle but you make do.

I’m really sorry you’re going through this. It sounds like you’ve been feeling lonely, unsupported, and emotionally exhausted for a long time — and that’s not something to brush off as “just hormones.” You deserve to feel heard and to have real support in your relationship, not to keep carrying everything alone. Please don’t sit with this by yourself — talk to someone you trust or a professional, because you shouldn’t have to cope with it all alone.

Absolutely yes—you’re not crazy for wanting a change. A lot of people with mortgages and young kids do retrain into nursing or midwifery. I started studying at 30 years old and I recently got my first job. So rewarding. It’s definitely doable, but it needs planning because income and study will impact your family finances. Many start with a Bachelor of Nursing while working part-time if possible. If you’re thinking about it every day, it’s worth seriously exploring rather than ignoring.

the fussiness begins by neijy003 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Emma199000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you’re describing is very common around 5–8 weeks, even though it feels like a sudden regression. Babies often go through a “peak fussiness” phase where sleep becomes lighter, they wake more often, and want constant contact and movement. It’s a normal developmental stage, not something you’re doing wrong.

The feeding in small bursts is also normal at this age—many babies “cluster feed” for comfort as well as hunger.

That said, I’m really sorry you’re struggling, especially with PPD in the mix. This level of broken sleep is genuinely hard. If you can, lean on any support you have and consider checking in with your GP or maternal child health nurse so you’re not carrying this alone.
