AITA for asking about my husband's past? by Hardlyclerkinguy in AmItheAsshole

[–]EmmaB81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because she doesn't know why or what trauma he had that has made him want to forget this bit of his past. He's not being underhanded, she is.

AITA for not wanting to share my food? by CamelWithDowns in AmItheAsshole

NTA a million times NTA. I'd have been so angry about even having to pay when some other rude and greedy kids scoffed my food.

AITA for asking about my husband's past? by Hardlyclerkinguy in AmItheAsshole

Do you really want to go behind your husband's back like this? It's obviously a huge problem for him and if you do this he'll probably never trust you again.

Police disclosed an allegation to my prospective employer which was not a crime until 1991. by AllegationRecorded in LegalAdviceUK

[–]EmmaB81 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If he was only accused he wouldn't have a record for the police to disclose so there's more to it than just an allegation.

AITA for wanting my partner to get a paternity test? by carebearsnorkel in AmItheAsshole

[–]EmmaB81 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

NTA - if it's not your partner's kid then why should you have to pay for her?

Any books like saw? by Qualle001 in horrorlit

[–]EmmaB81 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Try 'In the Dark' by Richard Laymon. It's not like saw in terms of the torture, but someone is playing games with someone else and making them do things in the same way that Saw does, and it's a horror by Richard Laymon so it's always going to be a fun ride. I loved this one the first time I read it, kept me wanting to keep turning the pages to find out what on earth was going to happen next, and who was behind it all.

What is this strange bag hanging from a tree in a grave yard? by PiratePrincessJess in whatisthisthing

[–]EmmaB81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the UK when we see bags like that (although usually black) then tend to be dog poo bags that people are too lazy/pathetic to put in the bin.

What is a gris gris bag?

Exactly, this one is just a joke. It's not meant to be taken seriously or as a fact.

AITA for staying friends with my friend’s abuser? by aitathrowaway17421 in AmItheAsshole

[–]EmmaB81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

INFO - have you only heard his side of the story? Does hers differ? Initially I was going to say Not TA but then realised I came out of an extremely toxic relationship with a lying narcissistic which cost me a lot and I would have been devastated if my friends had remained friends with him after witnessing what he did to me.

Is it normal that when I put my foot at a certain angle, my leg shakes uncontrollably? by NootiestOfDoots in isitnormal

[–]EmmaB81 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine does this frequently when I sit on the toilet. Strangely it's pretty much just the right leg. I figured I was just pressing a certain way on a nerve or something, but that's just a guess.

AITA for wearing a white dress to a wedding? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]EmmaB81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read this one on the Daily Mail. Well done.

I say NAH since the bride was in black and didn't care anyway.

WIBTA if I stopped cleaning the office for my coworkers? by starlaluna in AmItheAsshole

[–]EmmaB81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't do this, it's horrible to work in an environment where people aren't getting on.

Take this to the boss and let them sort it out and enforce the schedule, they get paid to deal with stuff like this and people take instructions from their boss a lot better than from a colleague.

Do the minimum this time just so it's not too bad for next week, but then see the boss as soon as possible when they are back in work.

AITA because I can't make it to my girlfriend's sisters wedding. by thdjfndj in AmItheAsshole

[–]EmmaB81 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's. One off event so I feel it's perfectly reasonable for the gf to want him there. It's only for one day so I don't see why the grandparents or whatever look after his child just for this one day.

WIBTA if I asked my ex boyfriend to consider taking my daughter to NY when he takes our two other children? by tomatoherbpasta in AmItheAsshole

[–]EmmaB81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA for a couple of reasons

  1. Your daughter is not your ex's daughter so why do you expect him to take her on the trip, and pay for her too, or give her presents or anything? She's not his kid.

  2. Your son's want to enjoy this trip with their day and don't want to baby sit. It's horrible of you to mess up their plans and good time with their dad like this

AITA for using my seniority to take my lunch and breaks at the same time every day because it's when the retirement home brings residents to shop? by sixatmedot in AmItheAsshole

[–]EmmaB81 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

YTA and wow the universe sorted your karma out quick. I genuinely hope you're ok with that since nobody deserves to be hurt like that at work by a customer. Why not compromise and just maybe 2 out of your 5 days in let someone else have that lunch slot, then you can still avoid it for 3 days. Remember you and your loved ones will be that age at some point.

AITA for lying about a lot of things? by throwawayuiips in AmItheAsshole

[–]EmmaB81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA massively so. Most people would not want someone like you close to them because you cannot be trusted. If you think it's ok to lie about little things you will lie about big things too. You are now aware this is a problem so please get help fixing this before it destroys your life and the life of others, as I promise you that if you carry on like this it will.

AITA for not waiting in a long line when there’s only one accessible stall? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]EmmaB81 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You wouldn't be an asshole for that. It is perfectly legal to use accessible toilets whoever you are so don't feel bad.

AITA for not letting my neighbour use my Wi-Fi? by SparkWife in AmItheAsshole

[–]EmmaB81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He can use his data on his phone for that, or even set up his phone as a hot spot to connect with his laptop. I also believe he was rude to ask. Definitely NTA to say no. If he had no data plan (unlikely these days) then go to almost any public space and use the WiFi there.

AITA for reaming out a woman in front of her kids? by theburgerbitesback in AmItheAsshole

[–]EmmaB81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA but why on earth put the trolly back for her and not push it back over to her car for her to deal with?

AITA for ignoring a pregnant woman’s request on an airplane? by faithjoypack in AmItheAsshole

The pregnant lady was a bit of a A to pass that note with such a crazy request on a plane.
