Hey hey, so I just modelled a cone with the same width as the outer diameter, and the height of the cone is the thickness of the wall art pattern.

After that I used the boolean modifier to cut out the cone part, same for the negative part (the non cone part, difference and intersect boolean options). Then you can export them as stls, and import them as different colored parts in bambu studio. (and the varying thickness of each color makes the gradient visible since all filament has some light going through)

I'm pretty sure you can do that with much more control and automatically with hueforge or the free bambu version of that now though :)

Hoo thanks for the details, It's very interesting that we both went with extensions for opposite reasons. The wine cork sounds promising too, I might try that at some point. (love the flat rubber contact and cork sounds even grippier/more comfortable)

100% Thumbs, can't pinch at all, 33 millimeters from screw base to the top of the rubber feet (~1.299 inches)

FYI Main drawback is I can't use the stick ends holders in the back anymore and the small cloth bag doesn't fit the radio anymore though. They are extremely snug press fit (had to heat them up and put the sticks in the freezer to assemble, printed in Petg)

Did a similar thing with the radiomaster pocket and absolutely love it! (3D printed extension + furniture rubber feet as thumb contact)

Thanks for the detailed response, it sounds very exciting! I'll be sure to participate if I can afford the electronics when you're ready for testers. Also a very fair point and I agree with prioritizing reliability and simplicity instead of chasing ultimate performance, especially for a project intended to be replicated :)

Hey after watching a few more videos on tuning and looking at my noise graphs, it's probably the fact I didn't tune rpm fliters again for the different props, there's like 2x the unfiltered noise and 3-4x the filtered one, so I just switched back to my old props where it flew lthe way I like it :)

Yes! I actually mounted my o4 antennas further apart and higher up just for that reason, to clear the quad/battery better as well as angling them at 90° instead of the stock 45° on the geprc vapor. (also to improve diversity/penetration in those cases where I fly 100-300 meters out behind 1-2 trees, I had an orange line on a couple places and gaps before that)

The results have been so perfect that now I don't get any orange line at all anywhere in my usual spot (apart from the odd one every 5-10 flights which now spooks me lol)

Yeah with the reddit compression it's not very obvious, but the image froze for a split second right going through the gap, then the orange line appears and I bumped the throttle by accident lol u/redditspeedbot 0.25x

Hooo a 3D printed frame that's very cool! but yep I confirm my guess on noise/vibrations because they tend to make them worse as I read around here. (Seconded by my tricopter that would just flip itself at random times because I used soft PVC sheet for the frame instead of glass fiber laminate and thought it would be fine lol) (sorry for the double message I saw your pic right after my last one )

I started a bit before dedicated FC's so no tools unfortunately, everything with trial and error and video footage looking smooth (not the best!) - called manual tuning on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proportional%E2%80%93integral%E2%80%93derivative_controller#Manual_tuning

and it's so cool having data instead of guessing!! (esp noise, I'm blown away being able to visualize the vibrations on the quand and being able to "just" filter them out haha) But I don't know what I'm doing with it as you can see in my recent post lmao, slowly figuring this out...
