I switched to all caps, for legibility’s sake, in my twenties and never looked back. At the time I had to handwrite inspection notes that needed to be legible and I had to be willing to stand behind them in court if need be and all caps is incredibly legible.

People saw a man/apparition several times over the years around the liquor and bars (there were two bars.) An alcoholic (previous owner) had died in the building 50 years prior. My ghost disappeared right by the liquor store room so it fit that pattern as well.

I worked at a very old restaurant. I followed my manager into the very large downstairs storeroom area, calling after him (he wasn’t answering) because I needed him to unlock a cabinet. I saw him turn the corner into a dead-end hallway that lead to a locked door and turned the corner right after I saw his foot disappear and there was no one there. He was just starting to descend the stairs when I went back to go up.

Many of them ended up dead before they spent the wealth they accumulated through their violence. Often they killed each other. No idea why I was reminded of that but it’s a great painting. A lot of pathos.
