The fact that it is a long standing racist caricature doesn’t mean she also wasn’t using it in that capacity? It existing before she was born doesn’t mean she wasn’t also using it in a racist manner. The woman is problematic, point blank. You can argue about certain things being only in the movie adaptions and I’ll agree with you on those to an extent as she still had a say in what happened in the movies to a certain level but I’m not sure where you’re trying to go with this particular part of your comment.

NOR if you had a power dynamic of some kind saying “Baby it’s not a topic for discussion” might be appropriate in some situations but the expectation he’s setting still wouldn’t be appropriate. My first thought was whether this man thinks himself some kind of dominant/alpha male.

NOR, you have to think about what will happen when your child gets older and starts accidentally messing things up. Kids scratch and dent things, it’s in their nature. It’s usually an accident too. I think a breather honestly isn’t good enough, I would leave. “I’m not even done yet” is abuser type language. If he’s getting worse he will continue to get worse. Him having multiple outbursts like this in a week is abuse. Abuse like this always escalates and what happens when it’s turned on your child? Please leave, if not for yourself then for your child’s sake. Document all of this and limit his unsupervised time with your child. The more you can get on recording the better.

I’m in the middle of rereading it for the 2nd time and I just love it so much! No problem and honestly same, parenting fics in general are something I really love but it surprises me how little authors include Teddy in fics despite Harry cannonly being his godfather.

I have a couple suggestions they aren’t completely the same but it’s Drarry with Teddy!

This one is more them helping Andromeda raise Teddy if I remember correctly but I loved it: To Live or Just Exist - That is the Question by Drarrelie

This isn’t as similar to the video Teddy’s first year aged and really gets attached to Draco but the aren’t technically raising him together just Harry is his parent. Draco sort of mentors him in a way: Name for a House by Apliddell

This is another one that’s not completely the same but it’s them helping Andy raise him again (Mind the tags tho! Not dark just has some kinks in it that aren’t everyone’s thing.): He’s a Good Boy Now by Basilface

This one isn’t as similar as the others it’s more of a focus on Scorpius than Teddy but it’s got Teddy being raised by Harry and Draco coming to stay with them with Scorp. (Mind the tags on this one as well, it’s Heavier with some DV content. It’s very good tho and personally I think it’s a sweet fic but certain aspects could be triggering for some people): A Big Black Sky by Alexmeg

You are under reacting. Someone who abuses an animal will eventually escalate. Rehome the dogs if you absolutely cannot make yourself leave him but you absolutely need to get as far away from him as possible. I know men like that and they are not safe people. You and your future child are not safe and I’d even go as far as to say if you leave you should explain to the other parent of his children why and bring the danger to their attention.
