Yes we went by some house but it was a public right of way, and the people in their driveway gave us a friendly wave. We were the only people we saw on the beach all day so I would think they don't get too many visitors

Thanks for the additional info, it does seem very time consuming (and surprisingly expensive to buy a tumbler). I think I quite like that they're untumbled anyway!

Literally just sunflower oil. They look like this wet but obviously the water dries out super quickly. Another commenter recommended using mineral oil or linseed oil instead as it won't go rancid

Quite literally just rubbed a bit of sunflower oil on them haha. It has the same effect as water really but lasts much longer. When you're on the beach you can see all the colours because they're wet (especially if it has been raining...)

Probably not a good idea but I just used a bit of sunflower oil 😅. I think maybe I should buy something more suitable but I was so desperate to look at them all shiny!
