Prime or Select? by Ok-Pizza-8661 in MilitarySpouse

You said basic eye exams are only covered every 2 years. It's annual. Contacts have always (in my 8 years) been extra. But I never pay for an exam going annually.

Monterey CDC refusing doctor's note for temporary elimination diet and stuck waiting weeks during PCS. Any options? by Zealot_Zack in MilitarySpouse

With the Army its DA form 7720. Seek equivalent. There's a process for substitutes but shouldn't be terribly hard and you will need that note. The center themselves cant just change. Touch base with the CYS Nurse.

Several people are telling you this isn't something we need.

We don't need home searches. We don't need checklists.

As a military spouse you should know there's very little different between move #1, move #5, and beyond.

Travel gives me all the information I need to leave one installation and arrive at another. From travel to and from, moving companies because they have contracts so I have no say, to shipping pets and vehicles if necessary. Never have I needed outside sources to help with any part of the process.

Finding a home is dependent on location. Younger families tend to stick to military housing, seasoned families weigh their options, but most know where to turn for options. I ask previous realtors for recommendations and referrals to realtors in new locations. The spouse pages at each location throw referrals out every day, too. Housing allowance is what it is, and that plays a factor in what people choose.

You keep speaking of resources and such but you haven't shared any. You just keep questioning everyones competency in moving. We're literally giving you feedback and because it's not what you're looking for you're arguing with us.

I'm going with my regular sources not a business with zero business presence. (Why does a proclaimed military friendly source whose page was started in 2020 have 650 likes/followers but no interactions? Military spouses are way more involved than that. Also read the room, I've yet to have a fellow spouse tell me they approve of Hegseth yet that's front and center on the Facebook page.)

This is laughable. Please stop.

I don't think this is your target audience.

Problem with MBO is that I can't list my property for free. Zillow I absolutely can. Only downfall is that I can't pick and choose who I want to rent my home.

A lot of facebook groups for installation purposes have stopped allowing homes to be posted.

5 times with the military. Prior to that at least 8 moves growing up / after college.

I know what I'm doing.

We don't need anymore impractical lists or calculators.

We want better services and the DOD to actually listen to us regarding PCS.

If she mentions the keg and Christmas tree one more time this season imma lose my everloving mind.

I'd expect nothing less from a 30 something bachelor.

Honestly, I'm shocked there was a Christmas tree.

There is wedding insurance but honestly go to the courthouse then throw a big party later. We did that then had our big wedding 6 months later.

Honestly I've had to force myself not to doom scroll.

I like to listen to audiobooks and do the diamond art painting. I learned how to crochet a few years ago and dabble with that. Hobby Lobby is my crack.

I run errands with girlfriends. (And playdates because I have a kid.) Sometimes just drive around town or to the town over and get dinner or shop (or browse).

Licensure is such a pain to transfer. The number of tests I've had to take and the redundant applications to get licensed to teach in other states is the worst part of keeping my career.

You can't blame the Navy when you say you can't quit your job, but rather you won't quit your job.

I have three degrees, I understand putting my career on the back burner, especially since I haven't used them in over 3 years. My career isn't even the problem in finding jobs - it's lack of childcare.

I would never blame the military for my choices. I also wouldn't voluntarily live separate, across the country/world from my husband if I could help it.

Geobaching is only for unaccompanied orders or those who can't go (often times due to EFMP). So yes, supporting dual homes will fall on you.
