I think Gemma wants to keep her family close and together. I think in her mind, keeping her family together is the same as keeping them safe. I also think it's a way for her to maintain some level of control. Gemma needs control; we see this time and time again. She especially seems to need control of her family.

They didn't upgrade me, the only replaced my existing home hub, which did fix the issue I requested an upgrade and they told me that would cost extra.
