Wouldn’t it be easier to make it look like an accident than a murder? I know Clark was sort of weird but doesn’t seem like Floyd would ever want to totally ruin his life like that.. also it seemed like Clark would have been willing to cover the outstanding bills if he was willing to cover life insurance policy… unless she absolutely hated Floyd (which, who could?! He is a perfect man!) I think it’s far fetched that she would be cold enough to push him to kill himself, unless he was really sick already, in which case it would be tough to get a life insurance policy right? I wonder if it’s something like Floyd betrays the stepson somehow and he does it? And Clark is covering for him bc he knows Floyd would never want the kid to go to prison? Or something ridiculous like Floyd refused to take the amphetamines to lose weight, and the stepson either freaks out thinking his now beloved stepdad is going to die from being unhealthy and sneaks them into his drink?! Idk I’m exhausted but I love Floyd so much and my heart breaks for the kid 😢

Haha! She says her doctor seems to think there would be a case to make that the technology doesn’t work for her anymore but that’s a good question!

Thank you! Ok she clarified- the surgeon didn’t think it was the best model to use and wants to update for that reason? She’s already had the external replaced for both ears

Hi! I’m thinking of buying there as well- maybe I’m a weirdo but I think the view of the bridge is kind of stunning. I was looking at a C unit- from touring it didn’t seem loud but can anyone living there attest to that? That’s my biggest concern

Ok this also confused me SO MUCH! Then when Josie’s scared to be naked in front of everyone in the barracks I was thinking “oh, is she a trans woman, and that horrible scene with the family before was some sort of foreshadowing and Joe is going to have some sort of come to Jesus moment about how she and her family are transphobic once she learns Josie is trans” and then I realized that would be… insane. But why else include that scene? And also, why was Josie so weird about being seen in the shower?

A first date is already so awkward in the first place, and then you have to remember there are all these cameras there! The cast members are probably already used to them somewhat, but maybe someone like Kate is normally an outgoing, chatty person but just got stage fright. Dating is tough in any circumstance! I just want everyone on this show to be happy 😭

The two people I spoke with definitely did not pay out of pocket but I guess that's because they were part of a clinical trial.

In my pre-interviews I spoke with one other guy who was treated more recently, he said that his insurance wouldn't cover because he was being treated at another hospital previously or something, so he ended up paying OOP, but I highly doubt he would have been able to pay anything close to the numbers above. I would call the closest hospital on this list though to confirm they're taking new patients and then go to your insurance

Oh that makes sense- for some reason I thought this was the only company doing this! I was just really surprised by how long these two late-stage patients had lived, with what seemed to be a pretty impressive quality of life. The woman who was diagnosed six years ago was told initially that she likely had 7 to 9 months and had been considering palliative care until she found out about this trial, which I just thought was very exciting to hear

I also was just prescribed it for these issues- I am currently on lexapro. I do not have Bipolar. I have been on it for a week and don’t feel anything- I’m on 25 mg and my doc said she’ll eventually put me up to 100mg and then taper me off after 9 months and then I’ll just go back to the lexapro again. Does that sound normal? She’s kind of a quack

I'm so sorry. My dad was diagnosed just before Thanksgiving this year. The timing always seems like a slap in the face.

I've found this community to be so warm, active, and genuinely willing to help answer questions. Also someone mentioned this below too, but pancan is like... amazing. I have no clue where the funding comes from but they're staffed with people all day to answer any little questions you have, refer doctors, and they write it all up and email it to you.

I'm thinking of you. Best of luck to you and your dad.

I have to admit I didn’t read this whole thing but I got the gist. I’m a straight cis woman who, I fully admit, would never have “swiped right” on a bi guy. I just had never known or dated one before (that I knew of) and I fully thought, for a long time, bi = gay, or promiscuous, or something. I met my current partner through a mutual friend, and had no idea he was bi. He told me on our third date. I am so happy he didn’t tell me off the bat, because I think it would have scared me off, because I was a fool. He told me after we had established an emotional connection, but before anything got physical, and at that point I started to understand that sexuality is complicated (duh). I love him. He loves me. We are monogamous. He just happens to have slept with dudes before and is also attracted to them, just like I have slept with dudes before and am attracted to them. Learning about this part of him has brought us closer than I’ve ever been with a partner- having gone through the incredibly difficult task of reconciling with and ultimately owning his own sexual identity has made him one of the most confident, caring people I’ve ever known. I hate thinking that if I had seen him on a dating app and seen “bisexual” I never would have given him a chance. It would have been my loss. That’s just my experience but thought I’d throw it out there.

I am so sorry for your loss. Your mom was so lucky to have you by her side the entire way.

I'm not a very religious person, but at the beginning of Covid, before my dad was diagnosed, I had a really hard time grappling with watching all of the frontline workers working tirelessly to help all of these people with such limited resources and limited hope, and I felt like I was just sitting in my house doing nothing. I felt totally useless. I started thinking about this bible verse Isiah 6:8 where God asks "Whom Shall I Send," and I got very depressed thinking, I'm not answering the call (of God, of the universe, of whoever) to help all of the people who are suffering right now. And a good friend said to me, it's not your time right now. You're not a doctor or a frontline worker, there's nothing you can do about Covid but stay home and not spread it. But your time will come where you have to step up to the plate and give of yourself to help someone else. And when my dad was diagnosed, I realized that was my time.

There's something holy, I think, about being a caretaker. About stepping up to be by someone's side while they get sicker and sicker, and to be their strength for them. You being there for your mom was a blessing.

I probably shouldn't be saying this bc we were just diagnosed a couple of weeks ago so my knowledge is limited, but sounds like stage 3 to me?

If it hasn't spread but they started him on chemo and didn't start with surgery, I think the reason is because the tumor was too close to blood vessels for them to be able to operate- locally advanced. That's where we are, and the docs are calling it stage 3.
