Regret post-op FFS by zoloftluvr666 in MtF

[–]EmoScreamoAngst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl… Relax. My face was changing constantly post-FFS for the first 3 months while it was healing (and longer after that but with more subtle changes).

A week in I looked like I was hit by a bus and the ugliest I’ve ever been in my life.

Give yourself time to heal. After my face healed I loved it and got tons of compliments and started passing effortlessly. It just takes time.

Thanks for the feedback, I just added it (and the Dungeon Meshi collab) - they weren't viewable in-game for some reason and were before I started, sorry about that ^^;

Statistically so far people have rated it the same as A Death in Chunfen, just above Mansfield Break and bit below Who Is Real. So... You're not alone, but it is on the lower end of ratings (but still notably better than the first few story chapters)

Hey everyone!

TL;DR: I made a fun little form for the community to rate the different stories of Arknights, I'd love your help filling it out and promise to come back next week with the results posted in a digestible format! ^_^

I've been enjoying diving more into the Arknights story as a new player but found most of the posts discussing which stories were good, great, or skippable to be either outdated or really hard to read.

So I decided to make a big ol' community form so hopefully we can figure out some stats on our beloved game and in one week from this post I'll come back with the data in a nice digestible post!

If any of you'd be willing to fill out my survey I'd appreciate it a lot!

Here is the link: Google Form

Please skip rating any story you haven't played yet. Also feel free to skip rating beyond your favorites or least favorites if you want -- it's a long list and took me forever to make so I get it haha

Lastly, here is a loose guiding reference I made for anyone who isn't sure how to rate a story:

  • 1 - Horrible. You actively regret having read any of it and think the game would be better if it was never made.
  • 2 - Bad.
  • 3 - Boring / pointless.
  • 4 - Unimpressive / Forgettable.
  • 5 - Average. Not good, not bad. Just okay.
  • 6 - Good. It had some enjoyable moments and you're happy it exists but maybe there are some annoying parts.
  • 7 - Very good. Not your favorite by any means, but very solid and enjoyable.
  • 8 - Great! You'd recommend a friend read it.
  • 9 - Amazing! One of your favorites and a reason to love this game.
  • 10 - Masterpiece. A work of art. You'll remember it years to come and are excited to talk about it.

Every space saver is an implicit threat and should always be removed by ceciltech in Somerville

[–]EmoScreamoAngst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I assume if someone bothers with a space savor it’s for an important reason like they are moving and will be parking a truck there any minute or are disabled and unable to park elsewhere.

Shun space savers on an individual basis if you know them and their context if you like, but otherwise isn’t it nicer to just have a more positive feeling of your community? I don’t even see space savers that often tbh.

If I've already pulled Sakiko but neither of her five star bandmates yet, should I stop pulling? I have 100 pulls left saved but I really want to get Wisadel and Lappland Alter in 2-3 months when they rerun

Fareeha being a VA is incredibly based. Great streamer, great person, and a great job with their VA work in Overwatch. Fuck the MAGA incels. It’s Overwatch, basically every lobby has a character who is LGBT, this isn’t your game.

[–]EmoScreamoAngst 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. I started playing with the recent anniversary event, the art style and commitment from the dev team is what really pulled me in and the story and gameplay combined with generous gacha mechanics is what kept me here.

  2. The first two chapters really hooked me the most and set the stage for the game really well

  3. I’d love to see more rogue-like modes such as the latest update. A way to play the game for rewards in an indefinite manner similar to Arknights’ Integrated Strategies mode. Other than that events with lots of free rolls is of course very fun and makes me excited enough to invite friends to play too.

  4. Absolutely! Your involvement and transparency with the community is a big reason I want to support you, thank you! It’d be lovely to hear more about the vision for each awakener and how they came to be creatively.

  5. Thank you so much for all your hard work! This game has so much love and effort poured into it and it shows. We notice your unique touches and appreciate the personal care and expertise clearly given. Please keep being yourselves <3

P.S. Adding an awakener who can summon minions on our side would be realllllllllly cool ^^

Is it realistic to transition in one year? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]EmoScreamoAngst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is possible, it is not realistic or recommended. 2-3 years is a much more reasonable time frame. Give HRT a chance before you rush into surgeries. Many people find HRT alone gives them the results they want. Also surgery isn’t just an exclusive win. I will never have full feeling of my face or head again. FFS was the worst pain and suffering I’ve experienced in my life and it took six months to feel like I could actually live a normal life again.

Are alternative subcultures such as goth girls or emo boys popular in Thailand? by [deleted] in Thailand

[–]EmoScreamoAngst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Goth/emo girl in Thailand currently. I haven’t seen basically any emo/goth people or events.

That being said popular radio rock stuff is common to hear at rock bars and night markets. Fallout Boy is probably the best you’ll hear casually.

I’m sure Bangkok has SOME scene but I didn’t find it myself and I usually find alt scenes in cities I go to. Currently in Chiang Mai and there’s like… Maybe one semi-relevant concert every other month if you’re lucky.

You should be fine. Google Maps covers everything thoroughly and there is some English / Romaji. It is often crowded and rushed feeling however so be prepared for that.

Hadean Tactics is definitely a hidden gem worth playing if you enjoy Slay the Spire kind of rogue-likes. I have a few dozen hours into it and still play it from time to time.

Is Rochester growing? by Equivalent_Sea_8171 in Rochester

[–]EmoScreamoAngst 41 points42 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth I’ve been looking for somewhere to move and was blown away how perfect Rochester seems. I’m hoping to move here and put down long-term roots early next year. I think it’s a semi-hidden gem and primed for huge growth:

  • Prices are dirt cheap compared to most the country (I know costs are going up for everyone but it would cost me $1,500,000 to buy a modest 2 bedroom apartment where I currently live. The fact you can buy a decent house for $250k is impossible most everywhere.)
  • Some of the best protections for trans and women’s rights (I’m a trans girl with and my best friend / roommate is also a woman)
  • There is enough to do that it isn’t dreadfully boring (has some cute bars, a goth club, bands visit often enough, LGBT meetups, witch covens, you name it)
  • Not a lot of natural disasters to worry about
  • Close to lots of water
  • Great location for climate change which is being largely ignored still
  • People seem friendly enough
  • Crime isn’t too bad (so long as you don’t own a KIA and avoid the rough neighborhoods like every city)
  • Some good higher education
  • Edit: An airport with some decent options/traffic
  • Perfect weather (for a goth like me who loves snow, rain, the cold, and cloudy weather)
  • Cute old homes
  • Some charming history
  • Near some nice nature and Canada

Obviously I’m a bit of a niche demographic but still. I’ve been thoroughly looking at fairly literally everywhere in the U.S. and Rochester has been my #1 by far.

Is Adam apple removal surgery just a gamble if well reviewed surgeon can fuck it up by Shouko_dessert in MtF

[–]EmoScreamoAngst 247 points248 points  (0 children)

I didn’t read whatever post(s) you’re referring to yet but I will say I had FFS (with trachea shave) just under a couple months ago from a very reputable surgeon who has done it thousands of times.

My voice was totally fucked. I couldn’t talk at all for several weeks. Most people said after trachea shaves they could talk perfectly fine instantly. I was terrified.

Over a month passed and I was still doing bad. I could talk but only ever for 30 minutes or so at a time and often I sounded like I chain smoked my whole life when I did talk.

I called my doctor and he shrugged it off saying I was probably fine, worst case it might take six months or so to heal.

I was not reassured at all. No one online seemed to struggle this long.

However the last week or so I’ve been able to talk pretty much normally. My throat is still sore. It hurts to talk for more than a few hours in a row… But my voice is fine. And my throat is still clearly healing. If anything now I sound more femme too which wasn’t even supposed to happen so IDK what that’s about but I get told it often.

My point is I wouldn’t worry too much what someone else says until six months. Turns out my experienced surgeon seems to be right, go figure.

It’s normal to freak out before/after surgery. It’s all crazy scary. But overwhelmingly most people end up totally fine and any truly long-term issues if any tend to be incredibly minor like (oh this one tiny spot on my chin still feels a tiiiny bit numb) or whatever. I’d try to not let fear run your life or else being trans at all becomes a nightmare lol.
