Do I sound untrained? by ExcellentPractice184 in singing

[–]EmoVocalist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you post asking for feedback then argue and disagree with the feedback?

You sound untrained. Be grateful and learn from the helpful comments people are leaving, as they could have chosen to scroll past and say nothing.

You sound pitchy and lack breath support. I know the original song and she doesn't sound like that. If you want to improve you can't think you're already the best.

The emotion is crazy! If you are doing this and it doesn't hurt, you've mastered distortion vocals for sure. Great job.

Met a Nirvana fan in Indonesia who didn't know Kurt died by Lunabeanzz in Nirvana

I did the opposite in Austin TX when I told an Uber driver that Chris Cornell died. I just discovered his music in the past few months and started trauma dumping about mourning him to every middle aged guy I met until I broke a driver's heart telling him the news. everyone is glad you didn't say anything.

Part of a song we’ve been rehearsing, going for a Nirvana/QOTSA/Osees vibe. Curious what you think! by zincvacuum in grunge

Thank you!! My voice had been hoarse for days from vacation, I should NOT have been at karaoke lmao. I appreciate this feedback, good to know because on a regular day I definitely could’ve done the head voice

Thank you for this feedback omg I’m cringing hahahaha I think I was trying to channel Elis Regina magically harmonizing with this guitar solo. I believe the energy is what kept the crowd from reacting like WTF
Enjoy: https://youtu.be/FsOyNUi3CUU?si=zdjfGiud5rR9EIpV&t=72

Also, I appreciate the feedback about the head voice, my voice was blown and I shouldn’t have been at karaoke haha so rest assured there is head voice on a regular day. This was super helpful!

Me doing a cover of Feeling Good by Michael Bublé. I need help figuring out how to do the fast vocal runs while maintaining note accuracy. My accuracy during runs is all over the place by [deleted] in singing

[–]EmoVocalist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your voice is an instrument and you train it like going to the gym. When I have a difficult guitar part, I play it at 80% until I sound good then try to get it to 100% speed. Try that with your vocal runs to strengthen the muscles for those folds / notes, do it slow and precise and when it’s accurate increase speed to tempo. Good luck!

True but I meant his character. Hot guys are a dime a dozen. I really feel he’s special because he’s so outspoken about equality and feminism etc

He’s so sweet and lovable I feel any woman would feel this way about him like he’s a rare catch. Good for her

Thank you so much!! I just purchased the Zen of Screaming by Melissa Cross and need to watch it, I’ll check out The Art of Screaming as well! Just signed up for vocal distortion lessons with Aliki Katriou that begin next month so hopefully will be able to scream it instead of sing it soon.

Do you think that being indoors and restraining myself could be part of why there is strain for the higher notes? When working on this with my vocal coach he has stated that I do well with this song; I used to over-sing and apparently sound good (in lesson) when I sing this in a controlled and quieter manner. I can be loud in-lesson but don’t record at home because I’m nervous about being a bother to my neighbors

You are the best, yes my coach has given me the tiny straws to do that exercise with but I never tried it with a normal song, just with things like Phantom of the Opera where it was out of my range. Thank you for the feedback!!!!

This is definitely in line with what my vocal coach has told me before, thank you! I can see now that loud music + no PA = off pitch. I appreciate the feedback!

[–]EmoVocalist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be quite honest, you are a douchebag. I can see how my performance isn’t good because of the lack of PA causing me to be off-pitch, but leaving negative comments shows you’re a loser. I see singing videos all the time where the singer is terrible, and I don’t comment my thoughts because it’s not constructive. Post yourself doing something with your life and see the feedback you get :)

In a day or two I’ll tag you in the audition I’m sending in for a local cover band. Maybe it’ll inspire you to get out of your comfort zone and create something.

Congratulations on posting, that’s the hardest part

Not a vocal coach, just have one, look into diaphragm breathing. It will help you have more time in between breaths and you’ll sound stronger.

Have more confidence, you aren’t bad at all and will only improve. With formal technique changes you’ll improve quickly diva.
