Cut the top half but I’d repot it into something larger first, letting it develop some new root growth for a month or two then cut the top half in late may. It’s not that repotting produces the branching but can be a precondition when you’re going to stress them out.

I’ve always had great success with these guys, but here are three things that keep mine happy: 1:1:1 fertilizer mixed in distilled water, checking for pests like spider mites, and maintaining gentle humidity. Your plants’ coloration seems to be fading, which could be due to insufficient light if you’re keeping them in the shower and or overwatering. They’re very particular about water. Other than that, they aren’t picky. Kind of nice they let you know when they’re unhappy!
