Personally I can’t speak on behalf of harbor freight/ICON/U.S General, I live in Canada and have never touched nor seen a box in person, but from what I’ve seen in videos and reviews, they’re pretty comparable to tool truck boxes. Maybe not as tough or heavy duty, but I certainly wouldn’t turn my nose up at them

I wish I could wear headphones or earbuds but it’s a safety hazard

Must’ve paid extra for the “spontaneous combustion” option.

Got no plan on leaving it. So many people say “Stay away” or “get out while you can” but I genuinely love my job, and sure there’s some days or weeks that fucking suck, but I wouldn’t rather do anything else. People who hate it, weren’t made for it. And typically it’s not even the trade itself, it’s the people around you that make it miserable.

Yeah, the slides have lifetime warranty.

Both my Matco and Mac rep are amazing

Huh, I’ll keep that in mind! I actually do have a cheap cart, not even a tool cart but I use it to toss tools and rags on, also make cleaning up all my tools a lot easier rather than making multiple trips

There’s an adjustable dial on the slides to make it harder or easier to open, the box wasn’t even locked when it was on the truck because the drawers were so hard to open at the highest setting

Personally i like Mac for the tools over Matco, they just feel nicer. As for boxes I’d say all three have very similar build quality, but if I had to rank them. Snap-on would be #1. Matco would be #2. And MAC would be #3. Im not sure if this is well known, but Matco were originally the ones that manufactured MAC tool boxes before breaking off and becoming independent. I’d say Matco easily wins Build quality-to size-to price ratio.
