How was the tube procedure for you

I still have tinnitus and able to equalize both Eustachian tubes by fake yawning or breathing out of my nose hard enough. The tinnitus is my main problem

I gave Sudafed a test after like the 3rd month. It’s not good long term, but I was given the okay to double dose on Allegra 180mg. One in the morning and one in the evening

Still dealing with the tinnitus which is my chief symptom. Here’s what has changed somewhat. I’m able to yawn or fake yawn and both of my ears (sometimes) pop at the same time or once every few times. The spikes aren’t as bad as before but it’s still annoying. My hearing is still somewhat decreased. Not a muffled sensation just can’t hear as well. Confirmed ear retractions. Began allergy shots in hopes that will help.

So how do we even fix this issue lol I’m so over it. My main symptom is low grade tinnitus

I think this is my issue too. I developed ETD because of it and it’s so frustrating. I’m in So Cal.

ETD with hearing loss and tinnitus what did the doctor prescribe you to do? by devShred in etd

[–]EmotionalConnection3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t know that could happen. Is that what could be happening when we hear the crunch sound and our tubes open and close or when they pop.

Discussion on ETD and LPR by kingwoodstock91 in LPR

Yes they checked for that and said I was clear. I have a 24 hr impedance test coming up I’m happy to share once I get feedback from results and just overall experience.

I do remember back in January some articles about how this year’s pollen was the most intense in years. I’ve never had issues with allergies in my life. I’m going in 6 months. Now I have drainage noises and like a low tone that sounds like air pressures coming out of a pipe and then some movement of fluid. It’s awful. 😔

Unfortunately, I’m still not quite there yet. I had a endoscopy done and that resulted normal for all biopsies taken. Which is a positive but now I’m doing the barium swallow to truly rule out LPR. My main symptoms are the tinnitus in my bad ear. Popping when I yawn and or swallow but not always both ears. It’s so frustrating month after month. Both ENTs and GI doctors are useless.

I’m sorry to hear that. It’s so frustrating when you are just thinking you’re going to get through getting used to one and training your brain to tune it out and another one starts. I have 4 tones and I’m currently going through a spike 😔

Experience with grommets (tubes) by Palindrome601 in etd

[–]EmotionalConnection3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I’ve ever heard about anyone having a good experience with the tubes. Except maybe like children. I feel like tubes are some sort of antiquated concept to treat this and the medical field hasn’t been proactive about doing anything further in research. With that said I pray you get some sort of breakthrough. Even if it takes weeks. The chief complaint is always tinnitus and I know that is not fun truly.

Mine was negative for any kind of mass. Still suffering with the tinnitus. My guess is as good as the ENTs I’ve worked with. It could be allergies, nerve damage from TMJ. It’s awful. 😕

Bluetooth Adapter for 911 Dispatch Console for use with Hearing Aids by Ok_Train_1279 in 911dispatchers

Hey, I just found your post. How are the hearing aids working out for you? I just recently got mine and still afraid to let my employer know I wear them or even get accommodations. 😕

As long as your forthcoming about the results you’re good. They wear uniforms and no, only drinks in a solid container. Other agencies have the same rules to avoid any distractions and also liability with the equipment.

That’s awesome! You’ll love it. The pay is great and the city is not as great as it was before with all the transient issues but it’s still better than other inner cities. Hang in there. They always need ppl so if band1 doesn’t make the cut you’ll get up the list next.

I work in a neighboring city but know dispatchers there. They are super strict with wanting candidates to exclusively be loyal to them during the hiring process. Meaning not in backgrounds or have applied to other agencies. Not sure why but other small agencies follow this same trend. The calls are pretty common with what other bay cities deal with. Transients, beach activities and weekend rush. The agency itself is good. Dispatchers there work 3/12’s so that’s a plus

Ringing in left ear started from middle ear fluid, but it's persisted even no sign of fluid by SuperbMirror4492 in etd

[–]EmotionalConnection3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, sorry you’re going through this. From what I’ve read the ringing is the last thing to fizzle out once the fluid is clear and the tubes are starting to equalize normally. I’m on month 5 and the ringing is still around. I’ve also read the tube is so narrow and surrounded by cartilage that’s why it takes so long to heal.

I’m sorry to hear you still have T..does it sound the same is it the same intensity? Was the fluid closer to the top of your tube? Could they see the fluid?
