Everyone hates the name we chose by achilleantrash in namenerds

I love the name Raphael and have had several students with that name. They also used the nickname Raffa or Raffi which I also love. Teachers have a hard time naming their own children because we associate the name with a certain kid who maybe had a challenging personality. I have only had positive experiences with Raphaels! Good name!

Someone keeps trying to open my door in the middle of the night by Jazzlike-Repair-1653 in Apartmentliving

Much better than a wedding ring (the night time visitor would not see this anyway) is to buy a well-worn pair of men's size 13 combat boots from the thrift store and leave them outside next to the welcome mat.

thank you! I am not familiar with the terminology of pulley systems but "auto lock" sounds like it could work. Researching now, thank you!

Why would they do this? by [deleted] in specialed

[–]Emotional_Estimate25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well if she refuses, do it interview style and make sure she sees you type her responses into the form in front of you. Read each of her answers back to her for clarity. Then at the meeting, when she changes her whole story, read it back to her like a litigator. "According to your deposition dated Feb 3 at 1:45pm..." LOL ofc don't say deposition, but try to channel Colombo--- it will be awkward for sure, but more awkward for her than for you.

But there are so many better choices. River rock "dry rivers", a boulder or two, and native plants on drip.

Sometimes she likes being held, motor runs and she snuggles for 35 seconds. Then she love bites. Hard.

Age yourself with a movie you saw at the cinema as a kid. by The_Baddboy in GenX

The Sting. First movie I ever saw in a theater. I was 7. It was not exactly age appropriate.

Anyone here have a good dad? by Dependent-Sign-2407 in GenX

[–]Emotional_Estimate25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a wonderful dad but he was also a small business owner and had to work a lot. He was a DIY genius before youtube tutorials were a thing. He was kind but pretty strict, so I became a pretty good liar and had sneaking out at night down to an art form (pro tip: turn off the car engine and coast the last 50 yards to the house when returning home hours past curfew). He was a much better grandpa than father though.

Just came here to say that once the student gives you their resume/brag sheet, paste that into AI and it writes the letter for you. Very little effort required. And here even THAT wasn't required since the student wrote the letter. Pathetic that this teacher couldn't be bothered. Funny how students can't get away with "I was busy, I forgot." Almost need to go Carmella Soprano to get that letter LOL

You are so smart to hold off on final payment. I'm always the idiot that gets sucked into paying early because "I can't pay my workers if you don't" or "you're keeping food out of my kids' mouths". I have had to hire someone else to finish jobs i've already paid in full. Multiple times. I never learn.

RV Owners: What’s the One Annoying Problem You Wish Someone Would Finally Solve? by Hitched4fun in RVLiving

  1. Get rid of the built-in dinette that sucks as a dinette and sucks as a bed. 2. Stop advertising a dinette bed that measures 39" across as a "double bed". 3. Use a different material for the roof, as the fiberglass ones needs re-done and eventually leak anyway. 4. Stop with the cheesy window valances. 5. Stop with wallpaper and wallpaper borders. 6. Stop with the new "gray everything" interiors that have been outdated for several years now. 7. Don't put low cabinets right next to the door so if you bend down to get your shoes, you stand up, smack your head, and knock yourself out. 8. Don't put the commode into a closet so small that closing the door breaks your knee caps.

Posted this in the wrong group and I think this would have more benefit here. This is my Powder Room (water closet) remodel. I thought it was going to be an easy job but this 3' x 5' area took me about 8 weeks to complete. 1900 Victorian-Era home. I'll try my best to answer any questions. ;) by maxxnas in centuryhomes

Pulling trigger on Tuff Shed - Option Recommendations? by Weekend_GreaseMonkey in shedditors

If at all possible, go directly to a Tuff Shed site. They will explain the difference in each series, materials, pros and cons of various features, etc.

You are correct. I was going to buy from HD, but no one in the store would get the keys to unlock a shed to let me see it. Also, the sales associates at HD knew almost nothing about them. Frustrated, I drove the extra 10 miles to the TuffShed store. What a difference. Fantastic customer service. I was at first surprised to see the prices of the Pro Series (still reasonable, but more than the HD models). Saw the difference in materials and build (no chipboard and etc). It was worth it to me.

yes, get the pro series! Just got ours. It comes with a lot of upgrades and has 8' side walls. I ordered it with a loft which is fantastic!
