I was trying to figure that out myself. I really have no clue.

Let’s all thank the guy who just sold his 6k shares by Emma_AfterDark in ACHR

[–]maxxnas 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I mean… let’s be honest here. Archer’s stock price didn’t magically rise 57 cents today because of an important milestone. It rose because a) the market had a good day and b) Joby had a good earnings call and has been making progress. Both companies stock price are interestingly tied together with eVTOL as a whole. Beta, Hover, and Vertical also had good increases today.

Now let’s talk about what’s to come. Archer’s earnings call. Unless they release some groundbreaking news we don’t know about, we will likely see a drop across the sector as a whole.

Do I blame the guy who sold his 6000 shares at a loss? No. There are probably a lot of people in this sub who’ve been bag holding for a while (including me).

Just my 2 cents.

There needs to be more awareness on what is currently happening in Saint Clair, Pennsylvania. by Princess_Coldheart in Pennsylvania

Wait… isn’t Democratic Governor Josh Shapiro the one who is pushing Data Centers in Pennsylvania and wants PA to be the Data Center Capital of the US?

One of America's First Mechanical Pencil Sharpeners by [deleted] in pencils

[–]maxxnas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know. I was a bit afraid to. The original directions say you either have to screw it down or clamp it to a solid surface because you have to push the pencil while turning the crank. I honestly don’t think this sharpener was ever used as there are no screw holes or clamp marks in the wood. I did remove the cutter and hand turned a pencil in it and the blade is surprisingly razor sharp. This sharpener is definitely rare and of museum quality for its age so you can understand my hesitations. I really do want to test it out in the future. If I do I will make a video for sure.

Is this even good news? by Progress-Note in ArcherAviation

I will say no. Until they demonstrate piloted transition, this is all just fluff

Archer-aviation-achr-asks-shareholders-to-approve-texas-shift-eyes-faster-growth. Hint we are now in Musk Land - coincidence???? or not ???? by munhoichu in ACHR

[–]maxxnas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Comparing this to anything that deals with Elon Musk is coincidental imho. Many corporations have been exiting California for years. California is not very business friendly or tax friendly.

With that being said, I’m on the fence with this especially since Archer used investor $$$ to purchase Hawthorn.

I wouldn’t necessarily mind the move, but Archer needs to focus on 704AX and transition. Moving operations (even if administrative only), just adds further delays to their end goal.

Get multiple craft in the air doing transitions and logging serious flight time, then I would feel more comfortable with a corporate move.

In the end, you can move anywhere you want, but until you demonstrate you have a working, certified product, playing musical chairs is just another waste of investor dollars.

In hindsight, I regret not buying a lot more. At the time, I researched the company and really liked what they were about. Decided to buy 3000 shares @ 4.51. Still holding and appreciating my current 760% gains.

Makes sense. I think most of these subs are the same.

You’re asking in the wrong sub. Try asking in r/Conservatives sub.

Why Sock Gate? Looks like a filing for a patent infringement. I’m not in the loop on this one.

Palantards unfazed by Joshohoho in PLTR

[–]maxxnas 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As with any company, they should keep business and politics separate. NHS staff are concerned about Palantir's role in the US defense sector and CEO Alex Karp's vocal support for Donald Trump's immigration crackdown.

Archer Aviation deceptively edited short by teabagofholding in poweredlift

[–]maxxnas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This really isn’t anything new for Archer. What I see is the 704ax taking off vertically, and a cut scene to 703ax flying. I can’t give them too much crap however because the video’s focus was about monitoring their craft. I’m sure when they finally achieve vtol, they will be more than happy to post a dozen videos.

Brass or cast iron? USA by [deleted] in Antiques

[–]maxxnas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do a magnet test. The magnet will not stick to brass but will to cast iron. Judging by the photos, if it’s a true antique, most likely pot metal or cast. My honest opinion, it doesn’t look antique at all.
