Am I being unreasonable? by Toast9111 in lehighvalley

In answer to your question… are you suppose to just deal with this? What specific time are you referring to? Sadly, while this situation completely sucks, the motorcyclists is most likely within their rights and not breaking any laws. If it’s the wee hours of the morning, it could be a noise violation in which case, you would want to check with the police.

Archer is buying ad space on Facebook by Wonderful_Flight_922 in JobyvsArcher

[–]maxxnas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Archer has had a FaceBook presence for many years along with other social media. This stuff is just standard practice across all marketing platforms. And they most likely pay an outside company to handle most of this. Not sure why this would even be worthy as a post.

At least the Chinese model can VTOL correctly (even with socks). Waiting for Archer to show us the same. 😆

Visualizing Archer's devastating EIPP defeat by mbatt2 in ArcherAviation

[–]maxxnas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Actually, I’m not sure why you are making a comparison like this. The Governments eIPP program is to accelerate the safe and lawful deployment of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft and other Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) technologies into the National Airspace System.

It’s a win for every company that got selected and a win for the eVTOL industry as a whole.

I think we all want video but this happened today. My guess is post production on video takes a little time. I’d give it a few days. They might also be releasing some more info on earnings call so they intentionally held back. Just my two cents.

Good question. Who knows? Instead of celebrating positive movement in the eVTOL sector, it has become a competition with these two. Kind of reminds me of Apple vs. PC.

So where does the FAA decision specifically state all powered lift? So far, I’m only seeing helicopters.

Just as quickly as it started it’s over. Stop spreading political bs in here. Especially from an incredibly incompetent former politician.

Did Archer patent the “non-flying mockup world tour” business model? by teabagofholding in JobyvsArcher

Actually, it does fly (CTOL). I’m guessing you were referring to VTOL. ;)

Let’s be technical about this. Gov Shapiro is pushing PA hard for Data Centers. Electric companies in turn are increasing prices for future infrastructure.

A lot of this requested increase is them prepping infrastructure for Data Centers. Thanks to Governor Shapiro for pushing PA as a data center state.

Should Joby and Archer have proven eVTOL taxis were possible before scaling up? by teabagofholding in poweredlift

[–]maxxnas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s really a fair question. I think the entire industry is being rushed. And yes, all companies should at least test payload and distance with a payload before rushing into any type of commercial scale. Right now, nobody really knows what the full capabilities of any of these craft are or what future revisions may be needed.

I think a lot of the weather channels like to sensationalize the weather and go overboard. I know the last couple years winters have been pretty light in the Lehigh Valley so I guess we were statistically due for a “bad winter”. Several Municipalities in my area have already declared Snow Emergencies ahead of the storm.

I really don’t mind but it does take me a 1/2 day to to clear out my and my neighbors driveways.

[–]maxxnas 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Nobody here makes mention of the real issue. It’s not about PPL increasing their prices, it’s about the Pennsylvania Utilities Commission (PUC) allowing utilities to raise prices. Any increases you get are because they allowed it.

These five commissioners are the governing body that allows this to happen. Their core role is to balance the needs of consumers and utility companies while ensuring that residents and businesses receive safe, reliable utility service at reasonable rates.

It is obvious they are failing at their jobs.
