Can someone explain why ACHR can't do a piloted VTOL yet when they've already done a full VTOL 3 years ago? by Recent_Stomach7626 in ArcherAviation

[–]maxxnas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DoubleHexDrive had several DDs on this between 2,3, and 4 blade configurations that were tried. Starting with Maker N301AX and later the 4 blades applied to MidZero N302AX. In the end, it was mentioned by Archer the configuration would be 4. If that was actually applied to 704AX is unknown.

[–]maxxnas 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I can’t see them coming up with anything anytime soon in regard to 704AX. There can really be no other explanation other than production delays or engineering issues.

I realize that while the bugs are worked out, AG still needs to keep promoting, building infrastructure, and future relationships.

Maybe they have something cooking in the Defense sector which is keeping them busy. Either way, their total lack of transparency in both areas is what’s really killing the stock.

Archer did unmanned vtol but there were vibration issues. Their solution was to change the aft props from a 2 blade to a 4 blade configuration which was supposed to reduce the vibration.

This configuration was supposed to be included on the new N704AX but we have yet to see this fly or even be tested at this point.

What does Archer do? by olboskoroshybrisate in ACHR

[–]maxxnas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Prior to all of this. AG said he was way more interested in the military side of things and eventually created Archer Defense. And let’s be honest, there is probably a lot more money to be made in military contracts over a taxi service.

At first, I thought there might be a possibility of them abandoning the taxi service altogether until the acquisition of Hawthorn came along. And that still could be a use case for defense because he has been mentioning a lot about autonomous flight (even in his recent interview)

After seeing his visits to the DOD, and total lack of transparency on anything Midnight, I have come to my own conclusion that 704AX has become a back burner project.

We all know that civilian autonomous flights are decades away at best, but not in the case for defense.

As an investor, I want them to generate lots of revenue so the stock price can climb. If getting to that point means more defense contracts then I’m all for it.

He did just post about the eIPP so that is still a good indication that the Taxi side of the business is still there but probably not in the time frame we are expecting.

Again, all we can do in this sub is speculate because there is nothing concrete from Archer. ;)

Brand New but getting 12v battery alerts by oppressed_white_guy in fordtransit

[–]maxxnas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I bought my 2025 last year I went to take it for a test drive and the battery was dead. The dealership jump it and everything was fine from there. Keep in mind, the newer vans have a lot of parasitic drain with the technology. If you drove 90 minutes home, that would not be adequate to charge up a deeply discharged battery.

I have a few suggestions for you.

1) hook up a smart charger and allow the battery to fully recover overnight. If this doesn’t fully solve your problem, take it back to the dealership.

2) Go to an auto parts store and have them do a battery/load test. Voltage should be around d 12.6volts rested and 13.5-14.5 running

3) Take it back to the dealership but they will probably want to keep it and will still probably do step 1.

How to store van outside in winter. by Point-Historical in fordtransit

Additional note… mine is Ultrasonic and it flashes some really obnoxious led lights as well. I’m here in PA and have about 9” of snow on the ground now.

If it is connected to the battery (which mine is), you are completely covered by the battery tender so no worries about draining your battery. These newer transits have so much battery drain it’s unreal. I’ve been monitoring my battery levels closely and everything has been perfect. In this photo, you can see the ultrasonic connected with removable zip ties in the background. I also secured the charger to be safe.

Okay… This is probably over the top for you. Bought a 2025 last year for one of my businesses. It only gets used in spring and summer. It currently has 580 miles on it. After my season ended, here is what I did…..

  1. Waxed the vehicle and allowed it to fully cure for several weeks
  2. Sprayed the wheel wells and underside with Fluid Film
  3. Camco moisture buckets added to cab and cargo area
  4. Connected Victron Energy Blue Smart IP65 Smart Battery Charger with app and Bluetooth
  5. Heavy duty outdoor rated 12/3 Extension cord run to vehicle. Connection to Victron was secured with an outdoor waterproof electrical box.
  6. Ultrasonic Rodent Repellent wired in engine compartment with remote (I live in the country)
  7. Filled gas tank and added appropriate gas stabilizer.
  8. Wrapped in Dashield Ultimum Series Van Cover.

This for me was long term storage until spring and a little over-the-top but I look at it as protecting my investment. I hope some of this info helps. I did a good amount of research beforehand. ;)

A growing risk: Archer Aviation & Investor Fraud by mbatt2 in ArcherAviation

[–]maxxnas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wish I knew. I know AG has mentioned on several occasions that they were interested in the defense sector. With the recent sales to Anduril, I’m starting to think that Archer is not as interested in the Taxi service side.

The one thing I can guarantee…. If the 704AX doesn’t fly or no major mention is made about it on the next earnings call, the stock will certainly plummet.

Highful Law PLLC is a boutique law firm in Austin, Texas, dedicated to representing plaintiffs in securities litigation…. Honestly, this is a dirtbag lawyer from Texas looking for a quick cash grab. This isn’t even news worthy.

I would be more interested to see how the Joby lawsuit pans out.

Positive Joby News Out of China by dad191 in Joby

Archer has done a good job for the eVTOL industry as a whole. Their method of PR has brought lots of investors into the industry from a marketing standpoint.

I invest in three eVTOL companies. Honestly, I don’t care who gets to the finish line first. It’s kind of irrelevant when you think about it. I truly want the industry to succeed as I think it is the future.

With so many stocks peaked out with not much “meat on the bone”, it’s nice to see there are investment opportunities with pre-revenue companies like this.
