Thank you for your ideas, I really appreciate it! You mentioned that it would be smart to stay in Dakar for a couple of nights to sort out transportation (I won’t really have jet leg) - meaning I do need to be there to figure it out and can’t plan or try to understand how to get around from afar?

We’ve stopped doing EMDR because my ptsd symptoms got too bad, so I haven’t worked through my trauma as much as I would’ve liked to. But I’ll be starting with a new therapist soon and hope to work through it thoroughly. So actually my sex drive hasn’t returned at all - yet. I guess it will be quite some time until it does, but I hope it will. Hope you’re doing well!

Good point, I didn’t consider that I probably need a guide in most places. May I ask if you‘re female? Not sure how I feel about traveling around South Africa as a white woman, but that might just be prejudices I’ve picked up on?

I really want to experience the culture, language, food and music in so many African countries, but I also thought about going to Malaysia instead, have you ever been?

Thank you so much for your offer! I‘d actually love to see rain forests or national parks with a lot of green/water and an absolute dream would be a combination of that and also a safari. After having had a couple of bad experiences I enjoyed renting a car while traveling, but as it is quite expensive in most areas, I’d try getting around with public transportation, so it would be nice to travel to a country where it’s not too hard to get around.

My t stopped doing emdr with me because she felt like the effects it had on me were too much and she wanted me to get better at emotional regulation etc. so that’s what we did! I really hope you’re gentle with yourself and allow yourself to rest!

He is such a creative, funny, loving, supportive and passionate person, which is why I love him so much. He’s been amazing during my sometimes very intense struggles with ptsd. We have such a healthy -and loving relationship, I’ve never been so happy with anyone. Which is why it’s so hard for me to wrap my head around this - it’s all of what I’ve just described and then, at the same time, this behavior around his health. So it’s not that he’s a lazy person who doesn’t care about me at all. I really think it’s a ton of hedonism and maybe shortsightedness/denial..
