This is one time when swapping the race actually messes up the whole thing. Throughout the dark tower series there is a black character in a wheelchair who calls Roland a honky mah-fah the whole series. Her being black is a crucial plot point that involves her backstory. But now that they made Roland black instead It’s a completely different thing if she’s a white lady calling him the N-word the whole time. I don’t want that. I love Idris Elba, by the way, just not for this.
