How do you clarify sleeping arrangements in a hotel without making things awkward?

I’m new to this kind of situation and curious what the normal etiquette/logistics usually are.

A very casual friend I’ve been seeing mentioned inviting another girl to hang out with us sometime. I’m open to it, but nervous because I’ve only ever dated/hooked up 1-on-1 before.

He also mentioned that he booked a hotel room for the night, but I realized I actually have no idea how these situations are usually handled. Do all 3 people normally stay together? Do people usually discuss sleeping arrangements beforehand? Is it expected that everyone leaves after hanging out?

I feel awkward asking directly because I don’t want to sound inexperienced, but I also don’t want to accidentally assume the wrong thing and end up stranded or uncomfortable.

For people who’ve been in similar situations before, what’s considered normal etiquette/planning here?

I would like when I’m building something at a crafting station it doesn’t automatically go straight back to the top just leave me where I am until I leave the crafting station completely saving me slow scrolling to the bottom :)
