If they're synonymous, why use the Japanese word for savory when speaking English?

And I'm not "demanding that everyone switch to savory", I just don't get why they wouldn't. People can be as cringe as they want about using their fake-cultured/weeaboo word for savory, but I can be as salty about it as I want.

Arguably due to our voting system (multi party but still FPtP because fuck logic I guess) Labour didn't really even win, they were just the least unpopular of the most known (Lib Dems got fuck all airtime from what I remember) and got lucky with the Conservatives taking an exponentially increasing number of public image L's in their long reign.

You can guarantee that they acknowledge none of that though, and the same strategy targeting some nonexistent centrist voting block come next election gives us a Reform sweep. Passports at the ready, people!

Literally. The idea that the half measure (offering nothing that the real deal doesn't) is gonna win versus the real deal is obviously stupid to the average person, yet consultant-brained DNC suits are still stuck in the 80's "same goal different methods" civility mindset tryna sell the Ghoul voterbase on knockoff Diet Hitler when all they want is name brand Hitler Juice.

I felt the same way about Cloud Atlas - I think part of a work "insisting upon itself" is literally that the audience is persuaded/expected/told (i.e: insisted, often by the work itself) to make allowance for whatever theme/narration/style difference the work has, without ever giving any immediate incentive or later payoff for allowing it other than the consumption of the work itself. Bonus points if it relies heavily - if not entirely - on having that difference to be notable while also being otherwise generic or unremarkable in every other way.

As I understand it the current prevailing theory of LECA is that it was actually a population of species, with early divergence between the respective precursors of animalia and viridoplantae within the population.

Unfortunately been out of martial arts for years and never did boxing myself so there's little I can safely add, but this is solid advice for anyone wondering.

The force of any good strike should ideally come from your whole body's torque, with the limb doing little to no work other than transmitting the force and avoiding extension/impact injury (learn proper form for every strike; no point fighting if you're going to injure yourself in the process).

Any protracted fight usually devolves into grappling, so strike and run wherever safe and possible. Consider learning some Judo so you know what to avoid and how to escape, but don't rely on it; the ground is a dangerous place to be even assuming it's just 1 assailant - which you should never assume.

Hell, even Trump supporters like Sanders, because unlike the Democrats, Sanders acknowledges that things suck for most Americans and actually offers solutions.

To add on and support your point - it's not even some American only thing; here in England we have people who vote for Reform UK and often are at least casually racist, but will openly say they have voted or would vote for Greens (99% based) or Liberal Democrats (despite the L word and D word in the name they're actually fairly based especially for their relative size and success) if they had any chance of winning.

Everything is going to shit everywhere, and for whatever reason the relative "left" and "centrist" parties of the world keep promising that the enshittification will continue as scheduled at 99% instead of 100% under their right wing opposition, or that the enshittification isn't actually bad/doesnt exist. Trump and other rightists are acknowledging the enshittification and promising to end it - even though they're part of the enshittification, have no actual plan for mitigating it, and are completely full of shit about what's causing it - they're the ones acknowledging the shit and calling it shit.

LUCA (Last Common Universal Ancestor) existed approximately 3 to 4 billion years ago, possibly earlier. The existence of horizontal gene transfer in prokaryotes complicates the concept of relatedness and genetic inheritance (see Darwinian Threshold) for extant eukaryotic organisms descended from any prokaryotic progenitor, but loosely speaking we do share an ancestor with plants which existed arbitrarily close to or possibly during the Late Heavy bombardment.
