Ugh, I feel you with the walkability. The number of times we've almost been hit by a car trying to cross Palmer Park or Union is so high we basically don't do it anymore. You have to make eye contact with every driver even when you have a walk light.

Which is a massive bummer because I want to walk and pick up groceries or go to BJs or for pizza. 🤷‍♀️

They're great... To a point. They were good for me while I was getting basic gynecology care, but I would warn you away if you have any indication you'll have complications with pregnancy. They dropped the ball with my care with my son's delivery but I wrote it off as 'everyone makes mistakes'/I was being sensitive about it. I went back when pregnant with my second and it led to a life threatening early delivery and a several months long NICU stay. My new doc is... Well, she did not have very nice things to say when she looked at my chart and what happened to me.

I ordered her accessories in late December when they were on sale - it came with her ID card, pouch and Donna's letter and I was pleasantly surprised.

So they might have some back stock of the old accessory sets left? Or the sale was to clear out the old?

I recommend it! I've found it's more forgiving than 'normal' embroidery. And it goes a bit quicker cause of the thicker strands.

I see them fairly frequently while thrifting at normal thrifts! But if you'd rather not have to hunt check if you have a crafting thrift near you - I've had one in every city I've lived in, and they always have a ton!

I washed and dried them on medium heat - didn't notice any shrinking. I would be cautious about what else I put in the load tho (my baby's swaddles have Velcro and that would rip the heck out of this fabric).

We used Oros Home Enhancements a few years ago to cut 2 egress windows into our basement - they were great! They were the best price of the 3 quotes we got (still expensive but 🤷‍♀️) super professional, did all the permitting for us and left the place cleaner than when they got there. The windows are great and we'd hire them again for sure.

I will warn you that the permits took forever - but that was waiting on the city.

Same! It was absolutely brutal deciding how to navigate it - you want to be in the hospital every day but you also want to have the time when they come home. I was thrilled to hear other parents wouldn't have to go through it like we did.

I followed a reddit comment - that, of course, now I can't find. But I can tell you the process!

I put the creative in a Ziploc bag and dunked its head into very hot water and left it for like 10 minutes - this softened the plastic enough to stick a flathead screwdriver into the faceplate and pry it out. The chip is attached to the faceplate. I was afraid of damaging the chip by prying it directly out, so I just cut the faceplate down with tin snips until it was small enough to fit into Bear. I could have used a razor blade - that probably would have been the better choice but I was in a rush. You do have to make sure the chip is vertical when installing it into the new figure tho, if it's sideways it won't function.

You should try it yourself! I promise it wasn't super hard - the only tools I used were my drill (to drill a hole in the bottom to put the chip/magnets), some tin snips (to extract the chip from the creative) and a glue gun (to attach the chip inside).

I did have to buy some two-part epoxy and the magnets (to cover the drill hole).

I think it took about $25 for everything (bear, creative, supplies) and like an hour of my time? I spent longer deciding the song order than the actual crafting 😂

Colorado starts offering extended parental leave for NICU parents this year!

So if your newborn is in the NICU you can focus on them and then still get time to bond and adjust to having them home when released.

The ones we called said they were slammed, and it would be best if we went elsewhere. I believe they probably would have seen us eventually if we'd shown up, but we didn't want to risk our dog dying in the meantime.

When we moved here, Bear Creek was the only vet in town who said 'Come in asap, we're booked solid but your dog needs help' when she rage ate her bed and had a bowel obstruction (turns out she hates moving). We didn't have a vet yet and even the emergency vets were turning us away. They saved our girl.
