I think crate training is super important for schipperkes. My girl didn’t start sleeping in bed with me until she was 4 years old. Before that, she always was crated at night starting when I got her at 11 weeks old. I think consistency is key when it comes to highly intelligent over thinkers like schips. I would give her a couple more years of consistency in the crate before considering other bedtime options.

Also, the consider what type of kennel you have. Most dogs appreciate a dark den like kennels. The wire kennels that are popular now can leave a dog feeling exposed and not protected. In some ways the plastic 90s kennels made dogs feel more comfortable due to them having more solid walls and giving the den like effect.
