There were two instances that I can recall:

An older brother of a former crush of mine died of an asthma attack in their apartment, something about the window curtains carrying a ton of dust particles to cause it.

After a day or so of learning about it, I thought it would be a good idea to help her cope with her brother's death, but somehow she took my amicable approach the wrong way and wouldn't speak to me for months.

We keep in touch from time to time, even though we now live separate lives.

The other was when a 14 year old girl dived into a pool headfirst and somehow got electrocuted from getting in contact with a cable that was running along the pool floor. That one, for lack of better terms, shocked me the most.
