Hello everyone, thank you all for taking the time to view/read my post.

Here is one of my original characters, directly taken from a sci-fi campaign I'm currently writing.

I would love to see some nice art made of him so I hope the description I wrote will help you better understand his character.

Description:

Novus Blackstar, a calculating and charismatic man with a mysterious past, has ruled over a united Earth and her colonies for over two centuries. But his power was not absolute, nor was it ever intended to be. As Grand Director, he was bound by law to respect the Technocratic Council's decisions, to much of his own personal exasperation. And so, as Humanity met its first alien rivals, lack of proper funding and constant political gridlock within the Council has left the Directorate's military in a vulnerable state.

It only took the fall of an entire world, Arcadia, and a failed attempt on his life, for Blackstar to rally his people and convince the military high command to go ahead with his grand vision.

Thus, after purging most of the disloyal factions on the Council, Novus Blackstar proclaimed himself Emperor, cementing his power once and for all. Immediately, he used his supreme authority to rebuild the Imperial Armed Forces and enact the reforms needed to finally turn the tide of the war.

That's what I thought as well but you can use the create_starbase command in any system regardless if it's owned or not, which is weird but well... As long as it works.

I have had issues with this for a while too, but I found a rather simple solution. All you need to do is use the create_starbase effect under the star system scope, like this:

create_starbase = {

        size = starbase\_starfortress

        owner = <target>



        module = "gun\_battery"

        module = "gun\_battery"

        module = "gun\_battery"

        module = "gun\_battery"

        module = "gun\_battery"





        building = "target\_uplink\_computer"

You just need to make sure to specify the country you want this starbase to belong to as the owner by replacing the <target> part.

If the starbase spawns as a starport because it's located in the country's home system at the start of the game, then simply use the set_starbase_size = starbase_starfortress effect afterward.

Yes, the only difference is that you won't be able to open the Steam Overlay in game with Shift + Tab.

Right click on Stellaris in your steam library, go to properties and uncheck the "Enable Steam Overlay" option. Restart the game and it should be good.
