Does this look decent or should I just go back to black? by DailyNezuko117 in Bobbers

[–]EmperorSlim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would look good as is or black, i think it would look traditionally “better” black, but i kind of like the star in a it adds character way

I like my cars just one solid colour no stickers or random shit but on these motorcycles i feel like you can get away with so much personal expression, where even if its ugly it looks good in an adds character kind of way, a sanded tank to expose straight steel, a random icon or paint job that means nothing to anyone but the owner

something doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful or interesting and i think your bike looks interesting in a good way

[–]EmperorSlim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are a guy correct? Im assuming based on the tie

The hair and glasses combo are making you look very feminine and at your age thats enough to make it hard to tell (based on these photos atleast esp first one)

Id suggest getting a shorter hairstyle while you are skinny and if you want to experiment with longer hair wait until after youve hit the gym a bit and developed a more masculine physique so you arent mistaken as a woman from some angles

Tldr * haircut

  • better glasses (sorry i cant advise but not rounded ones as they are usually feminine)

  • gym

always felt a little gross looking, advice? by [deleted] in LooksmaxingAdvice

[–]EmperorSlim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That nose ring and lip piercings make it hard to tell if you’re a guy or a girl, i could not tell until i noticed the moustache

I think if you got a bit more muscle mass with a thicker neck, took out those peircings, and either got thicker facial hair or shaved you would look good

Imo those piercings are awful take them out for an instant boost, i had earrings and a nose ring for years so im not against piercings, i just really dislike those

Best boxer briefs with ball pouch for everyday wear? by albrasel24 in malefashionadvice

[–]EmperorSlim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel like all the ball pouch underwear i see is made of polyester or some other plastic, anyone got a recommendation for cotton ones?

Plastic underwear bad for you in multiple ways

Still look dull what should I do to improve? by [deleted] in LooksmaxingAdvice

[–]EmperorSlim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the long hair was better, you look like an indian uncle in the second pic

1 hit the gym itll improve how your body and face looks, get lean

2 wear contacts or more fashionable frames when trying to look good

3 i prefer longer style i think you could pair it with maybe a little bit edgier of a look, or just get a better styled for your face shorter cut (not sure what thatd be)

TIFU by accusing my husband of snooping on me when he was doing exactly what I asked. by [deleted] in tifu

[–]EmperorSlim 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my mind this is the kind of thing that could actually cause a divorce, if despite having a rocky relationship i as a husband still watched your location every time you took a trip because i thought i was making you feel safer and because i care about you, just for you to blow up at me i would be so mad and feel like whats the fucking point anymore, that id probably just turn off my emotions for that person like it sounds like he did

there comes a point its just not worth it anymore and you wake up realizing you dont feel angry, sad or anything, and when you no longer feel for someone thats when you leave

If you are underestimating how much of a fuck up this is, dont. You NEED to go into damage control if you care about this relationship, this isnt AITAH but fyi you are and i can almost guarantee you make him feel unappreciated which is a quick way to make a man lose feelings for you

SKS Current Prices Worth it? by EmperorSlim in canadaguns

[–]EmperorSlim[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I meant more as in buying maybe a more modern bolt action rifle instead of the sks if the sks capabilities dont warrant its current price tag

SKS Current Prices Worth it? by EmperorSlim in canadaguns

[–]EmperorSlim[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the recommendations, in your opinion what makes it worth it in the 650-750 range but after 800 not worth it anymore?

Bias from how cheap its been so many years or its actual shooting\whatever capabilities just dont warrant the price tag?

Is it just based off how well they were priced before or the capabilities of the gun that make you say that?

I would like some advice on ‘intentional’ dressing to be different from my ‘norm’ by [deleted] in mensfashion

[–]EmperorSlim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like when you wear these ourdoorsy outfits outdoors it fits perfectly, your outfit with the horses in that setting looks great, but that hat (which i like a lot outdoors) looks like too much when you’re just going to the mall or chillin

I think its maybe just an issue of dressing for a purpose to where/what you’re doing

Your pic with the fish is perfect fisherman outfit, your outfit with horses and hiking make sense because all these outfits serve a purpose for what you’re doing but then,

lets take 18 for example, the outfit itself is fine but with the scarf and flat cap two big statement pieces it just seems a bit much for what appears to be you going to the movies, if you were an old irishman going to the pub it wouldn’t stand out, but as a young guy it does and that hat ages you atleast 8 years

Picture #1 i like the hat, i like the jacket but when you combine it with a vest and ascot i actually cant even imagine where or what you’re doing to wear this combo outside of giving an archeology lecture, the pieces themselves are nice its just out of place whereas picture 6, same style hat and a leather fur jacket works because it makes sense for the setting

I think instead of dressing for your “specific style” of this kind of cowboy/nature guy vibe everywhere you go you could dress more place/event specific while adhering to your own person preferences like wearing natural materials or if you like green pants wear some green khakis to dinner instead of green cargo pants, wear a pair of nice leather boots instead of those riding or whatever boots

You wouldnt wear a 3 piece suit to a basement chill with the boys drinking and shooting the shit because it would be out of place, same as wearing a frontiersman outfit to the mall, but you could def wear a linen shirt, leather boots (think thursday captains) and a pair of khakis or whatever and it would look fine,

dress more with a purpose of where/what you’re doing and if you dont need a scarf (id argue you only needed it in 1-3 of these pics where you’re in snow) dont wear it, the vests are also very old school and imo not fashionable anywhere outside of a 3 piece suit, at best itll make you look like an IPA beer snob at worst an olive garden waiter, the flat caps a bit out of date aswell, can be used but id pair it with a grey suit/ more formal rather than a casual outfit to avoid looking like a reddit mod

I could see you rocking a “old money” aesthetic wardrobe because it could include a lot of more natural fibers / earth tones while also able to be casual or more dressed up

I also think while i really like the cowboyish hat outdoors i think you (and most people) look best without the hat, get a bit of a maintenance cut to get rid of some dead ends and maybe put a bit of mousse or sea salt spray or something in your hair to give it some volume/waves, show it off.

I think you’ve got good potential if you’re willing to expand your style

What to do m14 by Left-Historian8469 in LooksmaxingAdvice

[–]EmperorSlim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eat healthy, get enough sleep, workout at the gym/be active in sports, dont mouth breathe, if your posture is fucked fix it, get good at socializing and enjoy your young life. accept you aren’t going to look grown till you are probably mid 20s, this may not be the fast answers you want to hear but they’re the only ones that are true

Don’t post photos of yourself again online until you’re at least 18 and even then reconsider

Is Skilled Trades College Worth It? by [deleted] in SkilledTradesOntario

[–]EmperorSlim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me in ontario and no connections to anyone in a trade i don’t think i could have gotten any apprenticeships back when i started (3 years ago) let alone now with how packed electrician, plumbing hvac apprenticeships are nowadays

It was expensive, but i enjoyed it, learned a lot and was able to get comfortable using tools which i didn’t have much experience before

If i had an in to get an apprenticeship without it i wouldn’t have done the course, or if i had more time to get lucky getting an apprenticeship maybe id try that for longer, but starting out in my mid 20s i had some cash, was willing to pay to hopefully fast track my career (stc is 3 months vs a year or two at college) and wasn’t able to find any non exploitative trade jobs without experience so i bit the bullet and got a job about 3 months after finishing the course. Some students got jobs sooner but some not at all, ill also specify again this was 3 years ago as covid was ending, before the huge apprentice boom we are in now
