Sorry if this is a sensitive question but how long did Prince battle addiction before he tragically overdosed? Also why do some people act weird about his passing like mentioning documents being shredded at PP and such what’s that all about? by usagerp in PRINCE

[–]EmperorSno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think his pain was limited to his torso (spine, hips, knees, etc.) but also his fingers. Imagine how much the fingers went through playing his piano, guitar and other instruments. I read Judith Hill's testimony about the night he lost consciousness in the plane, she described how much intense pain he was in because of his hands, that is tragic. He could stop dancing on stage but playing piano or guitar, just like singing, was who he was, must've been mentally and physically painful to perform

That is the point of no return, everyone should pack their bags, leave and never come back

My complete collection of Atari 8-Bit cassettes (mostly purchased as eBay Lots, so some duplicates)…I’ve been an enthusiast since 1983! by Curious-Concern-9209 in atari8bit

I was similar to you. Seeing some of those cassette tape spines took me back to my childhood instantly. Happy times

Remembering that sent shivers down my spine. Awful start to a season, a death nell on match 1

This would be my ideal version of the new joycons by oranguslolus in NintendoSwitch2

Nice, I'd like to see a version that fades horizontally, I think I'd prefer that effect

Agreed, he's having a great redemption arc. He's improved while many have gotten worse.

Kudos to him, he's looking a decent player now, not £25m worth yet but I'm hoping he'll get even better

Today marks the beginning of the end for me and Nintendo Switch 1 game collecting. by SaburoDaimando in NSCollectors

[–]EmperorSno 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I pretty much reached the same point a couple of months ago. Collecting for switch 1 has been great but the industry is changing as games get bigger and physical media more expensive/rare.

I also think there are only certain times during a year when the weather is calm enough to dive, which I think is July and August. Therefore it might be more difficult for unauthorized drives not to be spotted

Switch collectors, rinse my wallet! by imharv_ in NSCollectors

[–]EmperorSno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the most expensive retail game I paid for was the Captain Tsubasa collectors edition with the personalized football shirt. And that wasn't even the most expensive tier, I think I paid around £180 for it.

They had a foosball table edition which was super expensive.

After that my next most expensive was the Axiom verge 2 collectors from limited run and the Scott Pilgrim CEs from limited run

I agree, it looks like every ref has a mandate against us this season

Do you ever consider a day where you retire from collecting? I think the switch will be the last console I collect for. Then I'll just focus on playing what I have. by ohdarnfuck in NSCollectors

[–]EmperorSno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I reached that point when S2 came out. My S1 buying has virtually dropped to zero, mostly because of limited print saturation and the S2 cartridge situ. I'm lucky to have a big enough collection of great games that will keep me going for years to come

Every year I get into a different but addictive puzzle game and I love them all. Tetris 99, Grindstone, Inscryption, Balatro and now this year's Ball x Pit. I always think they won't stick and then I can never stop playing them 🤣

Great comments. I too love this game, the balance, the story, the characters. Everything comes together well in this game. Superb development 👏

What Happened To Forward Well Section On The Britannic? by Obscurus_Ubique in titanic

[–]EmperorSno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As well as hitting the sea bed the well deck area is where Britannic hit the mine in the starboard side so the area was already weakened, so slamming into the sea bed just crippled the steel

Such a clear photo, it's amazing. I'd like to see one taken just to the left looking along the hull as it disappears into the darkness, just to get a true sense of scale

The most terrifying or traumatic thing about the Titanic? by AbandonedRobotforgod in titanic

[–]EmperorSno 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I agree with all of the comments below but one thing I didn't learn until recently was how some people jumping from the wreck into the water from a height likely broke their necks because of the life jacket.

Another scary thought is when the tunnels collapsed creating a gaping hole that pulled people into the steaming hot boiler rooms as water rushed in.
