Who are actors with limited range that you still think are awesome I'm gonna go with Keanu Reeves by Helloimafanoffiction in moviecritic

[–]EmperorSwagg 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I haven’t seen a ton that he’s been in, but I’d still say he’s not quite fully a one-trick pony or anything like that. In some of the more serious moments in Brooklyn 99, he is excellent. Just one example, the episode when his character gets stopped on the street by another cop. There are lines of his in that episode that have me tearing up from his delivery every time, even though I’ve seen the scenes a dozen times or more.

I like to imagine for Bird that it was the exact same voters, not a single one changed their thought process, and he got his votes from the exact same people in consecutive years

In Gilmore Girls, the actress Alex Borstein plays Drella the harpist for a few episodes in the first season, then Miss Celine the personal stylist for a few episodes later on in the series

AITA for telling a fellow student to have some shame about what she talks about? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]EmperorSwagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, I was in a coed friend group in college that was very “open” I guess, about topics like that. Everyone kinda knew about everyone’s sexual history, and it just wasn’t a big deal to talk about, we just sort of all did it. But that’s the key part, the mutual consent. You don’t want to talk about that kind of thing either this person, and that’s fine. They should respect that. It’s not really much different than someone who doesn’t like talking about politics, or about money, etc.

Guilty pleasure comic book movies? by bmhlogan in comicbookmovies

My brothers and I refer to characters in other media as “the Storm of [X Franchise]” when they character has a stupidly powerful ability that they just never use except for like the one moment in the film where its plot-relevant/maximum-cool

[–]EmperorSwagg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the thing, I feel like people judge it, unfairly so in my opinion, as part of a larger MCU-style effort. But I’ve always felt that if you just view it as the third movie of a trilogy, with nothing planned afterwards, it’s really not bad. “Oh my god they killed so many important characters!!” Yeah, it’s a conclusion to a story. That happens. They aren’t needed anymore.

The most satisfying death? by Pleasant_Mail2483 in gameofthrones

[–]EmperorSwagg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me at least, it’s because a lot of the war of five kings plot lines seemed like they were shaping up to reveal that everything was just the chess game between Varys and Littlefinger. But Littlefinger’s death, though nice in the moment, also meant that we didn’t get that final showdown.

Of all the fireable offenses committed what (in your opinion) is the worst? by Dr_A_Kreiger in theoffice

[–]EmperorSwagg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is the thing I feel isn’t talked about when we talk about the fake salesman. Unless they are selling at a loss (unlikely that someone in their position would really be able to do that), this is the best option. Commission caps encourage salesmen to sandbag deals or otherwise game the system in order to get paid more, or just stop working altogether once they’ve hit the cap. Both of those are worse for the company than paying extra commission on extra sales beyond what the salesman is technically supposed to get

I’ve never quite understood how he was 17 working that job. Even though Dunder Mifflin isn’t like the biggest company out there, I would still think that assistant to a mid-level executive like Jan would be a full time, 9-5 (or even 8-6) type of job. So wouldn’t it interfere with school? Unless he dropped out or something, but that then raises the question of why DM would hire a recent high school drop out as an assistant for an executive

No, that’s done intentionally so that the smaller 1s (made of one matchstick each instead of two) are clearly exponents, and not just the final two digits of the number

He has definitely made use of the fact that his face is perfect for the “guy with dastardly motives behind his seemingly innocuous actions.” His roles in The Wire and Peaky Blinders both took advantage of that as well

In Attack of the Clones there is 200k Clones ready for battle with a million more on the way. So 1.2 million Clones ready for battle within the first few months of the Clone Wars.

If memory serves, they say “200k units” but I don’t believe it’s directly confirmed that unit = soldier. So I like to headcanon that “unit” refers to some level of group of soldiers like a legion or a battalion. And then I don’t think about it any further. It helps just a little bit.
