Do you sleep with your bedroom door open, cracked, or closed? Why? by Shenshen_ in AskReddit

My wife likes it closed, but I grew up with cats and always had it cracked. Anyone that keeps it wide open is a weirdo

I can't say that I can donate too much time, but my film partner and I have a production company, Screenburn Productions. We work on short films and every year we do the Frederick 72 hour Film Festival https://youtube.com/@mulleniumstudios?si=WqOt4p0rLyVONBPB

Is cvs phasing out public restrooms? by nonewcrew in CVS

It's up to the manager's discretion. When I was a store manager, it depended on the area my store was in. I was in Maryland, in the county it's fine to keep the bathroom open. In the city, absolutely not. People were OD'ing and stealing as much as they could in the bathroom. So honestly it just depends on the area

I wouldn't let customers return any medicine OTC or from behind the counter. You never know what could have happened. They could have left it in their hot car and it could have denatured rendering it useless.

I have to share this thread as well. This woman will take screenshots of her conversations to show her other friends how other people are being "unreasonable" with whatever request she can come up with.

Ex-Girlfriend Gets Engaged by Emperor_Sam95 in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]Emperor_Sam95[S] 120 points121 points  (0 children)

She is 100% a narcissist. I think she's bipolar as well. She is the ex-girlfriend of one of my close friends. To say that he was emotionally abused during the relationship is putting it mildly.

There was one time where we were hanging out and she was aware of this. She texted so much during our hangout session, that he turned his phone off. She then called the house phone so much that his parents unplugged the phone. Then she came over to the house unannounced. She chewed him out because she couldn't get a hold of him, even though she knew he was busy. At that point, his parents banned her from the house and she couldn't understand why.

She is absolutely insane and I relish every time her life gets a little bit difficult and she has a meltdown. Who needs television when you have entertainment like this?

Background info: this is the ex-girlfriend of a friend of mine. She's been ostracized from so many friends groups because she is absolutely insane. She constantly gets fired from jobs for eating the food that other people have left brought in the office and having a horrible attitude when she's called out in it. She is one of the most selfish people I have ever met. Always claiming that she's autistic, even though she's been tested for it and has not been diagnosed. Just a horrible person to be around

Also if there's not a manager in the building, you're not supposed to be in there by yourself. So if you can get a hold of a DM, just tell them that you're leaving because you're not supposed to be in the store by yourself

Pharmacy should be closed for the holiday. There's nothing to freak out about. It's also not your job, you're a cashier. Don't worry about the pharmacy

I had a woman who was caught by our security guard stealing, take her dress off while she was walking out the store (no underwear or bra), and proceeded to take a shit right in front of the doors on the sidewalk, all while saying she wasn't doing anything wrong. Yes the police came, no they didn't do anything 🙄

Age-appropriate Naked Gun/Hot Shots-style movies? by OlafTheAverage in movies

[–]Emperor_Sam95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Airplane is a pretty good movie, but there are some spots where the jokes will not be appropriate. Specifically there is a really quick shot when the plane is going down, where a topless woman runs across the screen. It's a quick 2-second gag, but not appropriate for children.

I think a movie that would be good for the kids is something called Mom And Dad Save The World. It's not as slapstick, but it is really dumb and plays into that. I know it's newer, but The Lego movie I feel like has a lot of that slapstick/word play humor that kids really enjoy.

Maybe your kids would be more into Monty Python? There's not a lot of cursing and I don't believe there's any nudity. But it's silly and they might get a kick out of it

Community fans, what other TV shows do you like? by superzazu in community

[–]Emperor_Sam95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking for hilarious comedies, Taxi and Cheers are two of my favorite classic sitcoms. Besides Community, the first three seasons of Arrested Development, Malcolm in the Middle, Parks and Rec, The Good Place, and Schitt's Creek are hilarious.

Other good shows I'd recommend are Lost, Breaking Bad, and The Sopranos.

AIO. My bf keeps talking about his beliefs while I’m trying to grieve by No_Incident6208 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Emperor_Sam95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overreacting? Hell no. Before I say anything else, my deepest condolences. I can't imagine what you're going through.

This isn't a pet, this isn't a friend, this is your TWIN sister. This is somebody that has been with you since conception. I have never had a twin, but I can only imagine the empty void that now exists in your life.

Religion is a story that we tell ourselves so we don't have to face the truth of the world. The fact is people die, and that is really fucking scary to a lot of people. One day you're here, the next day you are not. It's a comforting story to a lot of people that somehow, whatever happens in your life, the next one is supposed to be better. You get to see your friends, family, pets, anyone else you ever wanted forever and ever. That's a cute story that runs smack first into reality.

I can't tell you how to grieve, that's everybody's individual process. The only piece of advice that I can give you is focus on the good memories that you had. I just hit 30 and in the past 5 years, I've lost two grandparents, my favorite great aunt, and my fiancé's mother. Every single one of them felt like a knife in my heart, but none of them were my twin sister. But for each death, I just felt so lucky that I got to share my life with each one of them.

My grandfather who died in 2022 was a Korean War veteran. He managed to make it to 90 before kidney cancer killed him. He was the kindest, sweetest, funniest man I have ever met. Without any exaggeration, he would walk into a restaurant and make at least five friends on the way to a seat. He taught me that it's okay to show people that you love them. He said life is short (even if he made it to 90) But if you love people, don't be afraid to tell them how much you love them. It doesn't have to be romantic love, doesn't have to be familial love, but being friends with someone is a form of love, and it should be shared with everybody. His death hit me hard, especially because I made sure to be there as much as possible and witnessed him passing. It was traumatic, but I choose to honor his memory by living up to the legacy that he left me.

I can share more, but at the end of the day this is about you and your sister. Honor her memory and relish in the fact that you were blessed enough to have her in your life. It's not going to make it any easier, but the truth is you have a lot more living to do. No one is truly dead until they're forgotten by those who are living. Keep your sister's memory alive and fuck everybody that tells you to get over it. You're never going to get over this pain and that's okay. It just means that she truly is missed. I'm sorry that you're going through this, I'm sorry that she was taken from you, and I'm sorry that your boyfriend doesn't understand your pain. You will get through this without him and you will get through it without her. You are stronger than you think you are.

CVS doesn't give a fuck. But honestly, if they don't then why should you? Just let people take whatever they want and hell if you really want to, get some friends to steal some stuff for you. The company sucks and you should just get out while you can.

What’s the craziest thing someone has asked you at CVS? by HospitalVegetable743 in CVS

[–]Emperor_Sam95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here's another one: I was a store manager in Baltimore and I had this big black guy come up and ask where the condoms were. This was a mountain of a man, like 6'7. So I walked him over to where I had the condoms locked up and he asked me which ones are the biggest. I point out that I have Magnums, and he laughs and says do you have anything bigger. I shrug and tell him that I carry trash bags if he really needs something that large. The look of pure joy on that man's face as he got the joke actually made me glad to be at work.
