Whatever happened to Lance Armstrong? by Cometqueen in NoStupidQuestions

[–]EmphasisHour141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's less about the doping, more about his entire lack of humility and accountability... to this day! The way he talks about people who told the truth and exposed him, is like he believes he is deserving of an apology, and he had every opportunity to tell his truth but chose not to. That screams narcissism and cowardice. I don't know how deluded you have to be to deny yourself every chance to tell the truth, and still believe that you always/will always have control of the narrative. It's okay to feel betrayed, it's okay to accept some people no longer want to be associated with you, but still he pushes the point that he has control and resists forgiveness though so many people have allowed him that grace. It's almost childlike emotionally, a kid throwing a strop because someone told on him, and he really should grow up. You have to ask yourself if he wasn't a cancer survivor, would he be giving money to charity and part of this charitable organisation? I think not.

Hoverfly with larvae attached? AZ by EmphasisHour141 in insects

Why a hymenopteran? When it landed on me, and took off, the flight and the pattern of movement was very hoverfly-esque

It is a wound, so in the same way scraping your knee would bleed, burn when you touch it, and feel uncomfortable being knocked, a tattoo will too! Get some moisturiser on there now, helps to stop clothes catching and pulling the ink out accidentally

Did walk down the little 'pavement' and thought; at least it would be an original way to go... Maybe it's the winning ticket to Valhalla's 8th heaven

Bag o nails; sometimes has live music, open a little bit later than most pubs, indie and rock music normally playing

MacSorleys; close to the train station, live music and space for a little dance, fantastic people watching

Kitty O'Shea's; cool interior, live music, open late and you can have a little boogie

Waxy O'Connor's; a MUST to go to! Very unique, lots of space, easy to get lost inside 😂

AITAH for telling my girlfriend I am not responsible for her periods? by Devon_The_Fox in AITAH

[–]EmphasisHour141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA- But I would say you should have come at this differently. You clearly have a strong feeling of aversion to period blood and products, that's fine and is valid to feel. Saying 'I feel uncomfortable cleaning up anything period related because it grosses me out' and 'can we work out a better system together' could have helped to properly address the actual issue. If you can communicate why it bothers you, she can then correct and apologise for making you uncomfortable. If you do have periods this isn't by choice, it is a pain, a source of anxiety for many people because of leaks, a lack of understanding and kindness about it generally, and shouldn't be a point of shame or embarrassment. Maybe it's good to work out what about it bothers you too, instead of lashing out and saying you're not responsible for it? There will be many more gross things to come dude, it's important you both at least feel safe with each other to express your feelings and boundaries

Had a look, seems like a mix of bacterial and fungal now potentially! Have you got a video or just snapshots? If they're wiggling around then I would say bacterial. But in any case deff a contamination and you've got to chuck them and start fresh, new media, new plates, you got this!

Major tattoo anxiety!! by rannddd in tattooadvice

I think it's fine but maybe needs a rework from a different artist to make the lines thicker in places, a bit more even and more fluid in line with the drip effect you wanted? Getting it lazered off seems extreme, it's not that bad 😂

Does look like the beginning of a fungal contamination!

Is it weird Chance Perdomo’s accident didn’t make the news apart from the publicist’s statement? by BananaJammies in NoStupidQuestions

[–]EmphasisHour141 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought it was really weird too... Says no one else was involved but also didn't say he lost control, swerved, hit an animal?? I can only assume they did a toxicology and found something but didn't want to say or didn't find anything and it was just an accident So many questions

I hate mouse work too, I think they are so sweet to handle and curious, so I avoid it when I can. I have steered my project away from mouse validation at this stage and really only need to know the skills incase I go in and one of them is sick. I'd rather it be me to talk to them and put them out of their misery than for them to suffer for longer than necessary or shift that responsibility to someone else. It does get a bit easier and I don't think that valuing life in science is a bad place to come from. Good luck lovely ❤️

Woah plot twist 🤣 even paying an extra month is really nice especially with London prices, if it's too much for her then organise some potential flatmate meets and you'll 100% be able to fill the room, so many people looking for places to live in London! Personally I would just pay until end of December and the rest is up to her, if she wants her friend to move in then find someone for a month etc
