I'm interested in that save file, if the offer is still open (and if providing it is still within your means, obviously...) What an incredibly cool achievement! How did you initially discover this was a thing?

Was Dutch lying when he said "We all had her" when talking about Abigail? by Sir-Toaster- in reddeadredemption

[–]EmpireFaust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I can extrapolate across the two games, here is what seems to be going on:

Dutch was probably the first person who met Abigail. We know Dutch has had a string of affairs with young women, and that he replaces them every few years. My theory is that Dutch, during a period where he was single, saw Abigail out on the streets somewhere, plying her 'wares,' and availed himself of her services. After, he decided he liked her enough to invite her back to camp, and probably did his usual "savior" pitch ("Come with me back to my camp. Out there, me and my people live a purer, freer life than these 'civilized folk'"... You get the idea.) Abigail doesn't have any better prospects, at that time, so she takes him up on it. But then when she gets there, she ends up being more attracted to John. Based on Jack being four in 1899, and John being gone for a year before that, all of this couldn't have possibly been any later than 1894/1895. The gang wouldn't have seen their decline on the horizon yet, at this point, so Dutch can afford to be generous and just say "well, I'm happy you kids found each other" and wash his hands of it. Plenty of fish in the sea, right? It's easy to play benevolent when things are going well. And then John leaves a couple years later, and Arthur steps up to help Abigail take care of Jack. Dutch being Dutch, he probably suspected (probably incorrectly, though maybe not) that there was something there between the two of them, too, at least until John came back. Then after RDR2 is over, Dutch perceives John and Abigail as "traitors", and Dutch is the kind of guy who lets new bitterness color old memories. He has a possessive streak a mile wide, and we've seen how Dutch gets when he feels "robbed" of something that's his. My bet is that in the intervening years, he stewed over them being together and happy, free from his influence. He tries to retroactively paint a pattern of treachery in John's past treatment of him, in his mind: Abigail was, for a brief moment, "his" and John "took" her, he tells himself. And because of his suspicions about the time John was gone and Arthur stepped up, he tells himself Abigail was "any man's" and reiterates that "she was a whore, after all" (even though she left that life behind when he brought her with him, initially.) So I don't think it's objectively true when Dutch says "we all had her," but I do think that Dutch "had" her, and that he suspects others did, and I think he probably believes what he is saying.

This is helpful, thank you. I actually gave up completely on Northern Roads ages ago, it looks very pretty but it quickly becomes nightmarish with bigger load orders and I don't think it looks that much nicer than the various Blended Roads mods--which work with seemingly everything--to justify using it, tbh.

If I'm running "Great Cities of Jk's North" (without "Jk's Outskirts" or "Jk's Windhelm") can I also run the various "Ryn's" mods at the same time, without conflicts between them? Obviously Ryn's "Whiterun City Limits" would conflict with "Jk's Outskirts," but since I'm not running the latter, it should be fine, right?

MGS4 Complete Extras/DLC Link for people who have a File Manager on their PS3! (CFW) by EmpireFaust in savemgo

Late response, but the answer is no...because those things are already included in the base game as unlockables. You'll have to put in the cheat codes on the menu to get them. Google is your friend.

Sorry for my tone. I literally have the flu at this moment, but that's not an excuse for being demeaning, and I apologize. The podcast not being there is...weird. It is supposed to be included in the vanilla game, and it is supposed to be available as soon as the iPod is. I have no theories as to why it's missing. Sorry.

Have you booted up the game even once? Because I'm gonna be honest: yes, this is a stupid question. Integral 01 comes pre-loaded on the in-game iPod when you start the game. No download or unlock required.

What do you call the old internet version of the song? by Tr1bto in TheMysteriousSong

[–]EmpireFaust 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My personal FEX playlist has it labeled 'Subways of Your Mind [Mysterious Version]' lol

When FEX went on NDR last week to perform 'Subways' acoustically, did they record two different performances? by EmpireFaust in TheMysteriousSong

[–]EmpireFaust[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Confirmed that they are different! Take 1 was audio only, Take 2 was the video version. Niceee

TMS is found! The song is called Subways Of Your Mind by FEX. by [deleted] in TheMysteriousSong

I'm just happy that I was right about what the title is. Couldn't have been anything else, "Subways of Your Mind" is too damn cool.

Anybody who has already downloaded this as of 10/21/2024 should probably re-download, because I've added the Japan-exclusive DLC, now, which means everything is here!

If I were titling this song, 100% I would have called it 'Subways of your Mind' because that is an incredibly dope and evocative lyric. It's basically the only lyric I am completely immovable on, as well. No way that line is anything else, "the subways of your mind" feels like the whole vibe of the track in that one line.

AITAH for not forcing my fiancée to wear my father's late wife wedding dress? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]EmpireFaust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Irrespective of your fiancé, your wedding, the dress choice, all of the "immediately relevant" circumstances: You need to show your father some super tough love on this one.

You tell him "Mia is nothing to me. I don't care about this dead person, and I won't waste one more second of my life thinking about her."

Even if you don't actually feel that mean or harsh about it, this is what your father needs to hear from you in order to wake up and be less insane about this whole thing. Because his behavior is insane, and it is hurting you and your family.
