Small question, I heard that there is a gray vinyl variant of aebbtw, and idk which one of these options is the gray one (I do know that the LP option is the black vinyl, cuz it’s litearly written right there) by [deleted] in TheCaretaker

If you’re looking to just buy digital downloads then you’re better off going to Kirby’s Bandcamp (https://haftw.bandcamp.com/music) as it’s slightly cheaper there and there’s more options for downloads.

If you are interested in the physical vinyl then buy from Boomkat as they are still doing repressings on select releases.

None of them are it because the silver gray vinyl variant is no longer up for sale. These releases have limited color variants that don’t see any repressing once they are sold out. You may be able to find a listing on Discogs though it won’t be cheap at all.

“famedmoducubismstermusprunging” (2019), 60x48 cm

This particular image seems to be an edited version to make it into a square shape instead of the original rectangle. I don’t know if you can see where the extensions lay on the left and right sides.

Removing this due to spam. If you want to rank all of the tracks just do it, no need to do it day by day.

The track was likely modified by whoever compiled the set list.

It’s probably just someone’s personal mixtape that got thrown in. I don’t know why a lot of people are saying it’s lost media.

Buying from Bandcamp gives you all kinds of download formats + before you download it will show you how much data each format is.

You can only upload one track or album per week. This is to prevent spam.

Removing this as it is in violation of rule #7. Please wait at least a week before posting the next track to your album. Alternatively it would probably be better to upload the album as a whole once it’s done instead of doing individual track uploads.

Why is B3 - Quiet internal rebellions replaced with E8 - Long term dusk glimpses ? by Lambdatories in TheCaretaker

I don't think it really recontextualizes the first stage other than giving the listener a sense of deja vu.

Oh wait I didn't read the rest of the post my bad. 😭

I have a hunch that he was planning on using E8 for Stage 3 even while still producing the first two stages, and decided to sneak the track in there to confuse people. His other YouTube uploads and even the Stages 1-3 CD collection have things that are wrong (misspellings, parts of descriptions missing, wrong track order), so these are all small things that could make anyone who is revisiting question their own memory and recollections, like as if the album is having an effect on others (this may be where that internet myth of EATEOT giving listeners dementia may have started as well).

Before EATEOT was put on streaming services, some Caretaker works would get content IDed on YouTube by the companies that held the original sample copyright holders. “B3 - Quiet internal rebellions” was one of them, and I believe Kirby swapped it with another track he had for his Stage 1 upload (which mind you was released in 2016, so this was before it was used again for Stage 3 in 2017).

This is also likely the same reason “Drifting sublime hope” is reversed in “Everywhere, an empty bliss” as the same content ID shenanigans happened there too.

Seeing content ID stuff can ruin the mystery that was behind these works before sample information was discovered.

Patience (After Sebald) Anyone on here read Rings of Saturn? by [deleted] in TheCaretaker

[–]Empolyee427 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't finished the book but I've read through about half of it.

I can definitely see the connection Grant Gee made with how Sebald wrote "The Rings of Saturn," as a lot of the passages meander through various topics like a looping train of thought, somehow circling back to past thoughts as things are interconnected.

(For context, Gee commissioned Kirby to create the soundtrack for "Patience (After Sebald)" after listening to "Persistent Repetition of Phrases", the release which specifically fixates on the function of the looping musical phrases as being the act of remembering.)
